As you have understood, there is no more modification to do onto the two sockets of the A1000 motherboard. Now, the needed modifications are the same as the ones needed onto the A1000 NTSC. So yes, tracks cut, jumpers & resistor are always required.

O.K. - and while doing it, can I do something to make it easily reversible? I mean: perhaps soldering some pin for jumper(s) to easily connect them etc., so that I could for example for whatever reason in future, remove the switcher, easily connect (or disconnect) jumper(s), and be happy loading kickstart from disk again (without having to solder anything back :) )?

Originally, I provided jumper pins for the jumpers of the motherboard. But there were sometimes a shot circuit risk with the bottom of some models of floppy drives. For the tracks cut, I think that you can also add if you want some jumpers. It's the same for the resistor, it's always possible to add a jumper in line with the resistor.

Interested if you are still building them
Thanks

Hello,

Yes, the thread is always opened. But, as I'm working onto a big project until the end of August, I have no spare time now for working onto.
I add you into the table for one switcher? Which version of A1000 do you own? PAL or NTSC?

Hi Franck,

this project looks awesome. Declaring interest for 1x if still available, PAL A1000, no piggy back.

Cheers,
Christian

Two switchers please. Very cool.

Hi Micka,

I'll add a line into the table for you, but which versions do you own?
PAL or NTSC? If PAL, they are original ones with only one PCB?

Regards,
Franck

I just thought of this does this give Kick start ability
to the 1000?

It gives two kickstart roms to the A1000 with the possibility of switching from one to the other during the reset.
Everything is explained in the first post. There is also a link to a video of my A1000 running with the prototype.

Sorry, PAL for me please for both.

EDIT: How complicated would it be to have one of the kickstarts set up as 'insert kickstart'. I would guess it would need ROM + KS Ram so not trivial? It would be lovely though to maintain the original functionality.
