As you have understood, there is no more modification to do onto the two sockets of the A1000 motherboard. Now, the needed modifications are the same as the ones needed onto the A1000 NTSC. So yes, tracks cut, jumpers & resistor are always required.
O.K. - and while doing it, can I do something to make it easily reversible? I mean: perhaps soldering some pin for jumper(s) to easily connect them etc., so that I could for example for whatever reason in future, remove the switcher, easily connect (or disconnect) jumper(s), and be happy loading kickstart from disk again (without having to solder anything back)?
Originally, I provided jumper pins for the jumpers of the motherboard. But there were sometimes a shot circuit risk with the bottom of some models of floppy drives. For the tracks cut, I think that you can also add if you want some jumpers. It's the same for the resistor, it's always possible to add a jumper in line with the resistor.
