Table updated!

I have begun to work onto 24 boards. 6 are almost ready. I need ribbons wire for the LED and to pick up signals from A1000 motherboard.
I'll finish tomorrow. Will be ready to be sent after test.:)

Photo of the 6 first boards. Actually, only NTSC boards. The PAL version will be made after. I'm waiting for the little ribbon PCB.

The adapters - there is no difference. The difference is on the PAL/NTSC motherboards - Tux's adapter fits the NTSC version perfectly, but the sockets are spaced further apart on the PAL version so we either had to solder a new socket to our motherboard, or as Tux has offered, use a ribboned adapter to let us fit it to the existing sockets.

Thanks Monkeh for the precisions! I'll send pictures of the two motherboards standard (NTSC & PAL) when I'll back home to show the difference.

To answer about the difference between PAL & NTSC A1000 motherboard versions:

PAL version:

The adapter must be plugged into USR EVEN & UST ODD 1ST. For this version of A1000, to avoid to add a socket onto USR EVEN 2ND position, a little PCB must be used to pick up signals from EVEN socket.

NTSC version:

Here, the adapter is plugged directly onto ODD & EVEN sockets without any new socket or ribbon PCB.

OK ....so this means I have 2 NTSC A1000s....pics attached....am I still in time to change my PAL switchers to NTSC? Or can a PAL switcher be still used in a NTSC...just without the extra cabling?

This one has a Rejuvenator so no problem regarding KickStart...but the second unit is looking for one...:)

I'm sure I used them on PAL TVs....or was just my dumb luck that the sets supported NTSC? never paid attention to this... Or are there 'NTSC' MBs that work as PAL (video signal wise)?

Pfffffffff... I love your A1000!:woot:The Rejuvenator board is a really superb expansion.
The A1000 Kickstart Switcher will not work onto this computer. If you want a kickstart switcher, you can look for the A500-600-2000 version here:

https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?60790-A500-A2000-Automatic-Kickstart-Switcher-New-project!

In this case, the kickstart switcher will be plugged into the kickstart socket of the rejuvenator!

Your TV is perhaps a PAL version, but some are NTSC compatible through the scart connector.

Finally, you should need:
- one A1000 kickstart switcher for NTSC A1000 version,
- one A500-600-2000 kickstart switcher for your A1000 with Rejunevator.

Thanks! This A1000 is my jewel also....a lot of plans for it :D....and it works great with a Scandoubler (for VGA output) inserted in the Video slot of the Rejuvenator!...but you have to sacrifice the back plate for the VGA connector...:(

Anyway...had no plans to use the switcher in this A1000....I need it for my other A1000 and one for my 'just in case' scenarios.......so 2x NTSC version....

I understand what you mean! I think it's simply impossible to find this board...:crying:

OK, no problem! Table updated.

When I have made the schematics of the kickstart switcher of the prototype, it was not very clear.
When I have made the new design with the LED function, I had decided to remake the schematic with Labels to have something clearest.
But, yes there is a but... I have forgot to connect two pins from Even socket to pins 14 & 16 of the kickstarts ICs. (Pin 9 and 10):nuts:, so the adapter didn't work. The logic worked fine, but the screen stayed black.:banghead::censored::deadhorse

I have added two straps to correct the mistake, and now everything works fine.
When the Amiga boots onto KS3.1, the LED is green, and red when it boots onto KS1.3.

I hope to correct the other adapters which are finished tomorrow to make the test as soon as possible.
I have to see also the shipping costs for everyone. All members who has actually confirmed for an NTSC version can send me their postal address. I need it to determinate the shipping costs.
When I'll be ready, I'll send you my Paypal address with the amount.

I don't know if I'll have time to send this week. In fact, Wednesday, I'm going to the funeral of my paternal grandmother, who died this weekend at age 94. (She had Alzheimer's disease).

My condolences on the loss of your grandmother.
Pm sent with shipping address.

My condolences to you and your family, I'm sure we can be patient while you attend to personal matters this week.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. :(

I somehow missed this entire thread. If you have an extra NTSC one available then I'd certainly be interested in getting one. I skimmed through the thread but couldn't find a price. How much are they? Is there a 'kit' version that has a discount?

Thanks! It's a wonderful project.

Heather

I want to thank you all members who have sent message of sympathy suite à la perte de ma grand-mère. It's very kind of you. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your support SkydivinGirl.

About the KS Switcher, There are some PCB always available, so if you want one, it's possible.
for the price, I ask 15€ (without shipping costs).
The post about the price is here:
https://www.amibay.com/showthread.p...ERFECT-WORKING&p=614808&viewfull=1#post614808

Some members have ask for a kit version. That's could be possible, but I have made a little mistake in the last design (2 tracks forgotten).
Not a big problem, I have fixed this error onto 6 boards actually which are working perfectly. I'll going to fixe some this evening.
I didn't think about a kit version due to the low price of the assembled board!

For information, the reset time to swap between Kickstarts can be selected with a jumper (~3 or ~10 seconds).

I haven't followed the thread for a while and I have read only now about your grandmother...
I would like to give You also my condolences...

P.S. I ordered a pal version at the message n°86
