I actually just soldered a connector for each of the 3 signals...so if any changes must be done (e.g. removal, etc..) I just need to unplug the wires....no additional soldering/modifications done...:)

And I also prefer not to solder anything on the pins of ICs....

No problem my friend! It's a very good idea and a clean job!:)
So, where did you pick up the RESET signal?
I'll perhaps see for the next batch to use your solution!;)

Hope it is viewable on the picture...the reset signal is the yelow wire...the signal is the first mty 'solder pad' below the group of resistors that sits to the right of the bottom housing plastic that goes through the motherboard.....

I actually just followed the trace from pin 18 of the CPU and here was the first location where it allowed me to solder a pin...;)

Thank you! :D

By the way, I forgot to mention; for the PAL one I would like the model which can fit with a kipper2k ide68k board. Will it fit with an Indivision flicker fixer as well? I want to make my PAL Amiga 1000 into something useful again, and I've missed every GBA1k opportunity so far.

I would like also a PAL one
I have one of kipper2k A1000 8MB Fast Ram Memory Expansion board (yet to be installed), so I don't konw if I'd need a specific model

Also, I'm a bit noob regarding Amiga upgrades. Where can I find the Kickstart roms? Can I program them or buy them?

Looks like its not possible to fit the kickstart switcher and kippers 8mb ram/cf pcb in there as they are both fighting for the same space.

Has anyone tried adapting either to get them both to fit ?

For a use with expansions boards like accelerator boards, there is a solution.
I have worked onto a new version.

For me, it's interesting since it's simplier to assemble the switcher.
Now, the (universal) PCB adapter plugged into the sockets of the A1000 motherboard is the same for the NTSC and PAL version.
The Switcher PCB, connected with a ribbon, is the same as the A500 Kickstart Switcher.

The three wires used to pick up signal from the A1000 motherboard are soldered onto the universal PCB adapter.

The pictures below shows this new version under construction!

You have to keep in mind that the price will be higher. I'll try to apply the same price as the A500 KSwitcher version. (21€)
But, if I put mini clips to pick up the three signals (to avoid soldering), the price will be little bit more higher.

This version would allow kipper's 8mb ram/cf pcb an the switcher to be in the A1000 together?

I haven't the chance to have one, but for me yes. To install the 8Mb/CF into an A1000, you need the following specific adapter:

This adapter sets the memory card to the back of the Amiga and above, so for me, no problem.

Hi Tuxbar81

Should I state interest in the A500 kickstart switcher thread then, or stick to this one?

Hi cubelindo,

This thread is for the A1000 Kickstart Switcher. If you want a A500 Kickstart Switcher, you can declare your interest here:
https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?60790-A500-A2000-Automatic-Kickstart-Switcher-New-project!

The first post describes Kickstart Switcher and you can also download a quick installation manual (PDF file).
If you want an A1000 Kickstart Switcher, your are at the right place!

Hi Tuxbar81

It's an A1000 switcher what I want. I stated interest in a PAL one in the previous page of this thread.
Readingo the A500 thread I somehow thought that the new "ribbon" version would fit the A1000, and the other thread was more "alive" with a waiting list for next batch. That's why I posed the question.

Now it's clear. This is the thread I should follow.
You don't have an estimated date for the next batch, do you?

Thanks!
