Call me a dreamer, but is there a monitor out there like the BenQ that can de-interlace as well so that HighGFX 1024 x 768 can be used? Thanks.

If you're lucky, the Dell 2001fp fits the bill..but the luck is needed because not all of the 2001fp monitors sync below 31kHz. There's some discussion either here or another thread about the manufacturing dates which can and cannot do it.

I have a 2001fp that syncs to everything I throw at it (including HighGFX) and deinterlaces perfectly as well.

I've not tried all the modes you mentioned but I've got both the benq models - the 19 inch though is fantastic and I've got my Amiga 500 using rgb to VGA and Amiga 1200 using indivision dvi both connected - both auto switch and remember settings so perfectly centred.

The rgb does have some minor distortion which you can try and improve by playing with the settings - it's only noticeable on dark full screen backgrounds - doesn't bother me though.

Dell 2001fp doesn't remember screen position for me :( Tried 3, same on all 3. Other than that, picture is great.

yep, same issue here. A minor inconvenience for what it gives you though. :)

My experience with the 702 is that it does NOT remember more than one setting at a time. If you change to a screen mode with different scan rate, the monitor will "forget" your previous settings if you make any adjustments for the new screen mode.

All 256 colour screen modes are fast on my 060 with FBlit, including the DBLPAL and Multiscan type modes, but PAL does have the edge. HighGFX does display on my Microvitec, but it's interlaced and the controls on the monitor haven't enough range to shrink the display to fit the screen correctly. It's very fast at 256 colours though, like PAL.

oops...this was in reply to post #100.

Things aren't sounding so great then. I'm suprised the BenQ isn't remembering screen settings between PAL and higher scan modes (I'm assuming that being the issue) as I had not heard of that issue before.

Can the BenQ switch between Lores PAL and Hires PAL without such issues?

So for you BOTH BenQ models remember settings between PAL and other higher scan modes?

@ comraider
You have a beauty there! Does it remember OSD settings though between modes? Any issues at all regarding screen position?

Hi, does anyone can confirm if Benq G700 or Philips 170A8FS can go lower than 30khz?

Just picked up a brand new one of these 17" monitors from eBay, £50 great price i'd say. I will report here once I have had a chance to test

The 19" version (also 15kHz) is £50 as well (ebay link).

Edit: Ah, it's only one with a dead pixel. Oh well, might be interesting for some still.

No, it doesn't remember screen position between modes.. that's the one flaw. It's not a huge deal though. HighGFX being de-interlaced beautifully is worth the inconvenience. :)

Today I have made another discovery about these great BenQ BL702A / BL912 and possibly many other recent BenQ model monitors. I just discovered they also support sync on green perfectly.
I switched my A4000 to sync on green by jumper and made an rgb sync on green adapter - and it worked great (only I have to switch in monitor menu from YUV to RGB) - sadly monitor is not able to keep the settings in SoG mode.
This means many other retro computer / consoles that support Sync on Green output can be viewed with this monitor.

Interesting, I have an old Silicon Graphics Indy that I think requires a sync on green monitor.

Yes, Silicon Graphics used Sync on Green monitors.

One more thing: component connection also gives picture (with the vga-component cable). Picture is very good, but overall the picture gets some purple cast - maybe some YUV-YprPb color mismatch.

RBG + CSync also gives a picture. Sadly like the SoG also needs to switch from YUV to RGB, and looses settings after reset.

I picked up one of these yesterday to see what it's like.
I tried it with Fantasy Zone and put it in 24hz mode and it didn't like that complaining that it was out of range.
When booting and into LHES, and also with Dracula there's pixels missing from the bottom of the screen (slightly better than the other NEC multisync I have) even with the vertical set the extreme. Does anyone know if there's anything else I could try, or settings I can play with that might resolve this?

How fast does the BenQ BL912 change screenmodes? I demonstrated this for someone with the xrgb-mini upscaler in this old video:

https://youtu.be/RTWEx3y6NVs

Can somebody be kind enough to make a quick video showing the same demo (Symbolia by Access) running on the BL912 monitor? Video quality is not important, it's just to see how quick it changes. Just a quick video with the phone, or something.. ;)

BenQ BL702A

BenQ BL702A

can someone post the correct setting for full screen productivity mode for the BenQ BL702A.

Monitor to use in devs and the setting for the
BenQ BL702A.

thanks in advance

Just picked up the 19" version today: BenQ BL912-B. I'm hoping the '-B' part doesn't make a difference to the supported screen modes. I'm currently running a Samsung 741MP LCD TV, which is OK with Scart RGB but I know the quality could be better and there is always a slight flicker. I'll be using an RGB to SVGA adaptor on my Amiga 500.

Just searched 'Amiga monitor' on eBay and there is some guy selling some tatty looking unbranded '15Khz capable' LCD monitor for £200 (Item: 232875449291) I have just paid £50 for the 19" BenQ model and that's delivered - I don't think anyone told him they still manufacture models capable of this screen mode lol

It works OK with my x68000 as well, although not perfect it is still better than having to use 2 different monitors.

A new X68000 user here. It came with a preinstalled SDcard with a games loader that can be operated with just a joystick. I don't get any image on my BenQ BL912B. It's not the Sharp as it works on other screens. Can I somehow switch screen modes? Maybe the BenQ does not support 24 kHz and I need to switch to 15 kHz???
