Ok, this is weird... Dont know what happened but now I can't start WB with DblPAL present in Devs/Monitors. It worked fine before, but now it goes "out of range" when it starts to boot into WB mode..
Even if I set standard Hires Interlace (640x512) and save it as a screen mode in prefs (that screen mode works, btw at 15,6kHz) , as soon as I copy (and restart) with "DblPAL" file in Devs/Monitors it goes out of range.. (That is.. Without me starting prefs, choosing DblPAL as a screenmode in WB.. What gives..?

I probably know what the culprit is. Make sure you start VGAOnly first and then DblPAL screenmode.
That should do the trick! ;)

Many of the Dell LCDs that happily do 15kHz, 24kHz, and 27kHz mention a minimum 31kHz in their specs but still work just fine :)
I use a Dell 2001FP. It's a 4:3 LCD that displays everything I throw at it... Ntsc, pal, dblntsc/dblpal, super72, highgfx.. Beautifully deinterlaced to boot.

I have a Dell2001FP and it does NOT do 15Khz, tested on both an A3000 and A500. My friend has a 2001FP, and his does. The difference between our two FP2001's is the build date. His is older. So I would be careful and don't assume they all work.

You might be right, last time it worked I did try other modes first.
But how exactly do I make sure VGAOnly starts before DblPAL whrn its in devs/monitors folder?

Wow, that's news to me. Thanks for the feedback, important to know!

Try this in your startup-sequence to force VGAOnly first:

Code:
IF EXISTS DEVS:Monitors
   IF EXISTS DEVS:Monitors/VGAOnly
     DEVS:Monitors/VGAOnly
   EndIF

   C:List >NIL: DEVS:Monitors/~(#?.info|VGAOnly) TO T:M LFORMAT "DEVS:Monitors/%s"
   Execute T:M
   C:Delete >NIL: T:M
 EndIF

@comraider
The first part was actually enough to get it working

IF EXISTS DEVS:Monitors
IF EXISTS DEVS:Monitors/VGAOnly
DEVS:Monitors/VGAOnly
EndIF

Anybody tried Dell E1715S or Philips 17S4LSB? These seem to have similar specs like BenQ.

NEC MultiSync LED EA193Mi would be really great candidate too, if it supports 15 kHz. It has VGA, DVI and also speakers.

I have just got a Dell 2001FP dated 2005 and it does not work on the D-Sub, works with composite so now have to get a indivison AGA

Specs never specify 15 kHz on LCD monitors since it is not a part of VGA spec. Doesn't mean it won't work.

That's right. It is the same also with BenQ BL702A and BenQ BL912 monitors. No info about it in specs and these work.

I just tried its big brother, the BenQ BL902.
Unfortunately this one doesn't seem to support 15kHz. Connected to my PAL A1200 it just says 'out of range'.

It works fine for me on A600, but it seems that DblPAL works slightly different on ECS and AGA. For me it shows 50 Hz on ECS and only 48 Hz on AGA which goes out of sync. I think little tweaking of DblPAL by ModeEdit will help.

Hi frodegh, would the tweak recommended by a.mi.goun make a difference for you. We can only get the BL902 in Aus so if a tweak worked, that would be great.

Can you let us non UK residents know if that is at all possible.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi there.
No, it would not. The DblPal monitor driver is not related to the normal 15kHz PAL resolution that we are interested in.
Sounds like a.mi.goun could be using VGAOnly on the ECS machine and not on the other one. (changes the hz slightly)

Well I guess the 902 is out of the question for me too given I have an A1200 I'm wanting to pair it with. :(

I bought BenQ BL912 LCD yesterday, tested it, and it works great with my Amiga 1200 PAL. All PAL and NTSC modes work, there is a flickering on the laced ones though. It has correct aspect ratio and no distortion. Played games like Turrican 3, Galaga Deluxe AGA, Project X and some others. Everything perfect. Nice to see some LCD supporting native Amiga 15 kHz correctly.

I couldn't resist and bought also NEC MultiSync LED EA193Mi for testing as I had intuition that it will support 15 kHz. And it DOES! Workbench in PAL and NTSC non laced modes works great. Laced modes flickers too. But I didn't find a way how to set the correct aspect ratio in games and demos. Every game and demo I tried is not fully visible and there is no option in menu to correct it somehow. There is an option to correct horizontal size, but not the vertical one. No option for correcting aspect ratio. At least I didn't find one. So even it is really great LCD with IPS panel, VGA, DVI, Display port and speakers, it is not suitable for playing Amiga games or demos.

Can you post some pictures of the NEC how it looks (WB and Games)?

I am sorry, but I returned it to the shop just a few hours ago. I am keeping BenQ BL912. BenQ BL912 would be the perfect one if having also speakers, but this is not such problem, it works great even without them.

Did someone try the BenQ BL902TM? It seems to be similar to the BL912 but includes speakers.
