Especially when it's happening to retro lovers...Mimmo might believe he’s proving something by stealing people’s money, but life has its way of punishing such things. It’s petty to stoop so low just for money.
Hi,I don't wanna say anything bad, aaronkatrini, but it's pity that you know all the info about this guy and have his hardware which he gives you for repair (as you said) and you just can't help us by SIEZING his hardware till he refunds to victims.
AlexHello everyone,
My name is Alex, I’m from Romania, and unfortunately, I’ve become a victim of this person, Mimmo Sarcona.
On August 26th, I ordered two PCs from him (a Voodoo 5 and a Voodoo 2 SLI) and transferred around €1,900.
He kept me updated regularly about the supposed shipping - talking about packing, protection, etc. Everything seemed perfect at first.
However, yesterday evening I realized I was scammed when the shipping info showed the package arriving in a town in Italy. After searching for his username, I found this topic and realized the truth. I was very disappointed in myself for being so naive and not protecting myself better.
I have already emailed him, letting him know I will escalate this to the police. I have proof of the transfer (bank account details, payment confirmation, and his written confirmation that he received the money).
If he does not respond within 7 days, I will file a police report and pursue this further through the proper channels.
My advice:
Stay away from this person!
Now see post #22Maybe we can report this to eBay and explain that the user is stealing people’s money outside of eBay. That way, we might get his account closed and protect others from falling into the same trap.
Ahh ok. Then you have no protection from eBay and if you do report it to them they likely won’t take too kindly to people trying to cut them out of their slice of the transaction. Police may be your only resort. Next time spend the extra couple bucks and go through eBay.The issue is that the transaction took place privately, outside of eBay.
Im glad to hear thatHi,
I have cut all ties with him ever since this thread was posted. I don't have his hardware anymore. I've helped him over the years occasionally with replacing capacitors on old motherboards but that's about it. I cannot and will not share personal information with anyone as that would be illegal, its called doxing and it is punishable by law. I'm pretty sure it won't be an issue for authorities to track him down with the information you already have.
I will also try to report him, thanks for info!@alexbb23
Use every method you can grab your hand on.
Alert the Italy Tax Revenue because in ebay he is listed as a private seller. But the amount of sales is too big for a private seller. And that is the reason why these people always try to avoid ebay and arrange the sale outside of ebay.![]()
