Thank you my friends, nice to know y'all like it.
So, latest work...

GRILL13_zpsf2fbf9a9.jpg

Marking the diameter of the air vents.

GRILL14_zps5eafe3fd.jpg

GRILL15_zpsa2adae59.jpg

Drilling the holes.

GRILL16_zps831b0418.jpg

After punching out the leftovers, and filing the holes, the tubing fits well.

GRILL17_zps4d979527.jpg

GRILL18_zps9e44bf40.jpg

Vents in place.

GRILL20_zps98511570.jpg

I used short strips of thin PVC for the frame of the vents. Here they are temporarily attached to the vents with tape, and glue.

GRILL21_zps6304c18c.jpg

This white stuff is to fill the blank space between the vents and the frames.

It is called polymorph thermoplastic. You dump it into boiling water, where the pebbles join together into a transparent mass, which is soft and workable for a few minutes. Once dry, it looks like ordinary plastic.
Good thing about it, is you can throw it back into boiling water as many times as you want, and do something else with it! :)

GRILL24_zpsc50cea69.jpg

That's what the assembly looks like before putty and sanding.

GRILL28_zps134be577.jpg

End result, with a single coat of paint. Looks shiny, but the pics were taken while the paint was still wet.

Next up, we have a couple of plastic caps from an Easter Kinder chocolate egg...

BOTTLE2_zps7141dcc8.jpg

I always knew they'd be useful someplace... :picard

BOTTLE7_zps778737da.jpg

And, some plastic pipe from the leftovers of my daughter's shop plumbing i worked on. (remember the beauty parlour?) :p

BOTTLE8_zps6d39715b.jpg

Perfect match in diameter.

BOTTLE9_zpsdf2d8d90.jpg

Luckily, one edge was already conical, very convenient.

BOTTLE14_zpsc3659307.jpg

To complete the equation, i cut a bottle neck from a mineral water bottle.

BOTTLE15_zpsce94357f.jpg

This is what the whole assy looks like, temporarily held together on tape.

BOTTLE16_zps86297d4b.jpg

And, this is where it's gonna be placed, after getting sealed and sanded and painted. If you haven't figured it out yet, it's the Oxygen bottle... ;)
Stay tuned!

AWESOME!!! Such detail and clever way of reusing stuff that most would throw!
Can't wait for more updates.

/respect

Thanks once again my friends! The little free time i had, i managed to seal, sand and paint the O2 bottle.

BOTTLE17_zps73a1c0ca.jpg

The nut at the end of the bottle neck is masked so as not to be painted..

BOTTLE18_zpsbcc42b5b.jpg

This is some of the lettering. Not finished yet.

BACKPLATE1_zpsedc40669.jpg

I also managed to cut the backplate. This is not its final size or shape. ;)

Flaming heck! The attention to detail on this thing is turning out to be beyond anything I expected.

Had a little free time this weekend, so i carried on working..

BOTTLE20_zps140297b0.jpg

Y'all might be wondering, WTH? lol

BOTTLE22_zps96404c43.jpg

Cutting excessive parts...

BOTTLE23_zpsc64dd5b3.jpg

Shaping it up.

BOTTLE28_zps4150dd22.jpg

BOTTLE29_zpsa43cb895.jpg

BOTTLE30_zps521246e7.jpg

Starting to look like something eh?

BOTTLE31_zps6183094d.jpg

BOTTLE32_zps12ee7f48.jpg

BOTTLE33_zps3af0158f.jpg

Well, it's (supposedly) a regulator valve assembly. Lots more detail to be added asap. Stay tuned! :)

Thanks Johnim, nothing a rasp, some files and a drill can't handle!
I really knew this would've been a tough job mate, but knowing i can't afford the real parts (or replicas) sold on the market, i try to treat it to as much 'eye candy' as possible. It all adds to the realism methinks.

yes it does mate and the satisfaction that you did the whole project with your own 2 hands

it is a magnificent job

Here's another minor update.

BOTTLE34_zps4f916c2b.jpg

That's a fake nut there..

BOTTLE35_zps8040f007.jpg

A new bottle cap.. This time it's NesTea! (makes all the difference) :p

BOTTLE36_zps7dee3509.jpg

A preview of the assembly.

BOTTLE37_zps680aac00.jpg

Time to make the cap usefull.

BOTTLE38_zpse8459523.jpg

BOTTLE39_zps36255e3f.jpg

Looks like metal. (?)

BOTTLE40_zps856fbecd.jpg

I actually drew plenty of these untill i felt satisfied.

BOTTLE41_zpsd302844d.jpg

You might not be able to tell, but there's a transparent plastic in front of the gauge. Anyway, that's all for today. :)

can this thread get any more epic??!!!:)

Thanks Justin, your projects are way cool too!
Ok, so here's today's activity:

BOTTLE43_zps8e78fe89.jpg

Some aluminum work..

BOTTLE42_zpsb29fa418.jpg

BOTTLE44_zpsa1838798.jpg

BOTTLE45_zps6fe63398.jpg

Looks more metalic now.

BOTTLE46_zpsbedac5cd.jpg

BOTTLE47_zpsa3f06c53.jpg

BOTTLE48_zps8b94f80b.jpg

BOTTLE49_zps591481da.jpg

Now you get a better idea of the whole assembly. ;)

Alright, this actually is not part of the cockpit, but it is part of the sequence that will prepare my 'man cave' to welcome the cockpit!
I was thinking of preparing for those long winter nights up ahead, and the room has to be tidy and practical.
Thus, i started my woodworking stuff, and here's what's been keeping me busy these past few days.

There is still plenty of work left, but this is actually a mental treatment that distracts me a lot from my otherwise miserable family health problems.
Once i get started, the rest of the world can collapse; i wouldn't know!
Anyway, the build is not even half done. There'll be sliding shelfs for the musical instruments, lots of wiring around, and most of my non-Amiga gear - although there's room for the Draco, the A2000s, the Cassie, Walker, A1000 etc. Some of my Macs will be stored there, my ProTools gear, a Sun server (or two), and various other paraphernalia i can't recall at the moment. I plan on building this ceiling-high.. :picard
Stay tuned!

Thanks for your comment John, glad you like it.

Here's some more pics of the advancement with this furniture..

That's some massive deal of awesomeness!
I so much love rack mounted mixing consoles, sound modules, samplers, etc.
This desk is gonna be really kick a$$ :)
