Unfortunately not all of us own a C128D but pictures would help us recognise the component and then we may be able to help ;)

even without a pic(pic would have to be below and above pcb),you could replace it for same rated part.

although there may be something else afoot.

As there are no "teeny tiny" black capacitors near the transformer on a C128D and capacitors rarely emit smoke, you may be referring to the diodes? Small black barrels directly below the transformer, pin coming out either side and a small white stripe around the body?

If so, these are the rectifier diodes. The exact type is not critical, they just need to have the correct rating of at least 100V 2A or more. And take note of which end has the white stripe. The new diodes need to be soldered in the same direction.

See attached picture.

Thanks, I just found that out! And I will get the rectifier diodes replaced (Both!) just in case they emit smoke!, and those are the right ones i hope

and BTW! I am in australia so 240v here!

The diodes are on the secondary side of the transformer, the 100V has nothing to do with the AC supply voltage. In reality, there's probably only about 10V across these diodes, so you don't need 240V parts.

I'm in Germany where we also use 240V :)
