you're right, 16v is definitely too low
but 25v? i thought the voltage is between ±3-8v
like i found on this nice website here
AudioSchematic-large.jpg

so +8 + |-8| = 16v
16v x 1.50 = 24v
or am i totally wrong?

anyway, 35v or 50v will work
what bipolarized capacitor you would recommend?
cheers

22x35 or more voltage.

Of course we are talking about an output of 8Vpp* here, but the circuit is -12+12V, so at least (in theory) something circa 36V is required.

Better safe than sorry.

*8Vpp ~= 2.83Vac RMS

On A500+ Rev 8A.1 :

C303 : 35V 22µF
C304 : 35V 22µF
C306 : 50V 10µF
C324 : 35V 22µF
C334 : 35V 22µF
C401 : 10V 1000µF
C402 : 10V 1000µF
C307 : 10V 1000µF
C712 : 50V 10µF
C811 : 16V 100µF
C812 : 16V 100µF
C813 : 16V 100µF
C814 : 16V 100µF
C815 : 16V 100µF
C816 : 16V 100µF
C821 : 50V 47µF
C822 : 50V 47µF

Total :

3 x 10V 1000µF
6 x 16V 100µF
2 x 50V 47µF
4 x 35V 22µF
2 x 50V 10µF

I hope this is the right thread... Where can I find a list of Professionals who can recap A1200 motherboard?
Thanks in advance.

You can look in section "want to sell" "services" Good luck mate.

Thank you, I've missed that!
"Good luck" because recapping is a dangerous thing?

I've started using these for the audio outs on A600s. C334 and C324. Probably good for equivalent spots in all AGA machines too.

I no longer think there is a need for non-polarised caps in these positions but as you can see below these are about a billion times easier to solder into that tight position without damaging connectors and should last as good as forever.

You do know that Ceramic SMD capacitors are mircophonic, so they can not only start "playing" the music themselves, but loud noises and vibrations in the room will be added to your audio output and mess up the sound.
They also tend to fail if they get flexed and that part of the PCB (being so close to all those sockets) probably flexs when you plug things in.

I need to replace c211 c212 c213 smd ceramic caps,on the schematics are 0.22μF but the voltage isn't specified, there is a complete list of these ceramic caps with full spec?

Measure the voltage across the existing ones and multiple it by 2.

Done,all others caps measure 5 volt,these 3 measure 2 volt...perhaps the problem is elsewhere.

the four through hole electrolytic caps are a bit of a pain as there is not much clearance between the lead and the hole so when removing them its best to use a powered solder sucker, or a good quality manual sucker, again these pads will burn off if too much heat is applied so be careful, use plenty of flux

The smd electrolytics behind the keyboard connector can be a pain to get the iron onto. Be careful not to melt the connector in the process.

CD32 recap

CD32 recap

Hi,

Am new to these boards but have recently rekindled my love for all things Amiga by buying a CD32. I got it for £X.xx because it has a sound issue (crackling sound) and I took a punt and had a go at replacing the incorrectly aligned epectrolytic capacitors. I have done this (though I am a complete novice and whilst they seem to be seated okay I am not sure). I cant see any obvious blown capacitors but was wondering if there is anyone on here near Birmingham Uk that coukd recap/repair as necessary.
