I recently came into possession of an CD32 via ebay. It's in good condition in terms of the case, the CD drive works flawlessly, display is fine via Scart ,no sign of rust etc and I've been putting it through its paces with multiple games. During this I noticed an audio problem that I can only describe as one (or more) channels seems very quiet. This is more noticeable in some games/music than others.
I can across the Amiga Test Kit software and tested the audio and discovered channel 0 is much quieter than the other 3 when doing the music test. This supports what I had noticed during my testing.
The seller described the system as fully recapped. I took off the top cover (but didn't remove the shielding), from what I could see the caps that were visible were OK, there were no strange smells of dusty odour and no signs of corrosion from the limited visibility I had. I didn't feel brave enough to take the shielding off as I've had prior experience to breaking things or not being able to put stuff back together afterwards and didn't want to tempt fate
I wanted to ask about the range of possible causes of this particular issue and if anyone else has experienced similar?
I also wanted to know if anyone on here who is UK based can fix issues such as this?
(FYI, CD32 has been tested with both a TF330 and TF360 and a new power supply is on order)
