If someone can help us, I will be interested in one of this too, I'm in Spain too.

Anyone in UK can help two fellow Amiga users?

Thanks in advance

Hola guys =)

I had a look into this - to see if I could find a cheaper version - since all it is other than a cheap CF-IDE adapter is a small 3.5" Bay Tray.

I was quite concerned when I saw the prices of these units.

Theres two ways I could help.

1. suggest that you use a Cheap CF-IDE adapter Card and Front Blank Facia.

I would buy a 3.5" CF-IDE backplane unit
%21Bv0%28CNwBWk%7E$%28KGrHqUOKnQEvyFry0lkBMGJ0cqtkw%7E%7E_35.JPG

(theres to many to list on eBay that include shipping world wide for under $5)

1. Cut off the lip of the backplane that screws to the chassis
2. Drill two small holes either side CF connector in the metal back plate
3. Modify an existing blank 3.5" bay cover
using a router to cut an apporpriate slot into it.
4. match the CF adater to the hole cut into drive bay cover
5. mark the holes onto the drive bay cover from the back of the CF card unit.
6. gently drill two small holes into the drive bay facia
7. use small screws or nut and bolts to secure the two together.
8. place unit in tower/desktop chassis
9. plumb up to the IDE
10. enjoy (and also enjoy the CF Activity light on the front)

However if thats not to your taste and or if you guys want help organizing a group buy just let me know.

Another idea - grab one of these

Internal 3.5"/2.5" SATA to CF I/II Card Reader £12.29 inc free worldwide postage (eBay.co.uk BIN)

With this you have two choices

1. replace the SATA-CF adapter for an IDE one (<$3)
2. convert SATA to IDE (<$5)

good luck guys.

Hi

Thanks to all.

@Zetr0

I have lot of CF to IDE adapters. But don't have blank 3.5" facias.

@imnogeek

Problem.... don't accept PayPal and delivery cost is very high. I find also in Netherland..... 30 Euro plus only for shipment :wooha:

Maybe any UK Amiga friend can help amigaman2000 & me?

Thanks again

Ok

The cheapest I can find 3 delivered to me is is about £52.00,

The cheapest way to post would be send them on one parcel to merlinkv who could then send one amigaman2000; assuming about 1KG total weight it would cost £6.60

Add to that any paypal fees you incure it would end up being about £60.00

That is £20.00 each unit.

You would have to also work out inland postage of one unit to amigaman2000

Does that sound like a plan? :)

Gary

@inmogeek

Sounds perfect for me.

I will send a PM to merlinkv to arrange inland postage and inmogeek about payment

Many thanks

@imnogeek

Thank you m8 :thumbsup:

Yes, of course.

If amigamam2000 agree, I will pay you the total amount of the three units (+delivery, of course) and, when received, I contact with amigaman2000 to send one to him & payment, internal delivery....

So, the total price is 60.00 UK Pounds?

I wait your answer & from amigaman. If all is OK I proceed with payment.

Thanks again :thumbsup:

@imnogeek

All is OK, my friend. Agreed with amigaman2000.

I will pay you the three units.

So, only waiting confirmation.... 60 UK Pound, right?

Cheers :thumbsup:
