I am looking for a pcmcia network card for my a1200, but NOT one that uses the 3c589 driver, but rather a cnet based one. I am hoping this will help with a minor issue I am having.
Cheers

The OP’s original statement was:

”I am looking for a pcmcia network card for my a1200, but NOT one that uses the 3c589 driver, but rather a cnet based one.”

Notice the word “NOT” in the statement 😉👍🏻

In other words they are looking for something like what is listed against the CNET driver here:

So DLink, Netgear.

I have personally found Netgear cards work well with the revision 1D1 Motherboards. Others can cause lockups.

I have one for you. Second one already sold.
Shipping to UK is no problem.
Card was on my A600 and A1200 with 1D1 board.

PMed you 👍🏻

Cheers - PM replied and funds sent! (y)

@All - yes I know this is not the cnet wired card I was originally seeking, but it might still resolve my problem - only time will tell.

Good luck 👍🏻 If this doesn’t work, then would recommend looking for a 1D1 rev board 😉 As soon as I did that, my issues were solved.

I am having a very specific issue with Supercars 2 AGA (ie the one released in the last few years over on EAB). This is that although WHDLOAD closes down the network (I use roadshow), the game crashes after a few rounds anywhere between round 2 and 6 usually. If I remove the PCMCIA card before running the game - no crash.
This game has a lot of sentimental value to me and because of the case I am using one of my amiga's in, removing the PCMCIA card each time just for that is a pain. The game works fine on my desktop amiga (using a pci network card) and on my wedge a1200 I can just slide the card out.
I was hoping that the cnet based card might not have this issue.

The specific issues I was having on a 1D4 was when using the network and started to browse sites the Amiga would lock up. Not the issues you are having. I had tried Cardpatch and Cardreset off Aminet in my startup-sequence as well as a Gayle reset adapter. Then when I swapped over to a 1D1 revision, issues went away.

Card safely received - wont have time to actually plug it in till the weekend though.

Edit: Actualy, whilst I havent had time to check if it solves my problem with Supercars 2 AGA, I have got the card working and my amiga online using it. So will leave positive feedback in a minute.
Cheers
