So Apple were actually miles ahead in terms of raw processing power then for a bit?

I've never been into Macs whatsoever until I began programming and I've only been able to focus on that properly for the last few months without distraction of other things to work on . Most of the time I've had this macbook has been spent getting used to the operating system more than anything else. I've reinstalled it a few times too, so I'm getting to know it fairly well now. Just the command line left to conquer!

The G5s were seriously powerful pieces of kit, but they were serious gas guzzlers. The switch to Intel came about because IBM couldn't make the chips cool enough to run in a laptop. That's why the last lot of PPC laptops were only G4s. Eventually, Apple had to do something, so they switched architecture.

Someone edit my images out?

I like the iLamps too. They somehow remind me of flight of the navigator!

:D I have the exact same thought!!!
After reading this post yesterday, i've decided i want one. Close to agreeing a cheap local deal for it yay!

Yes, The Cube, 20th Anniversary...
as for Jobs' Lamp - I personnaly don't like it

I like the design of the original Macintosh and its descendants the Plus, SE and Classic. I wish they had made a colored version using the original case design. The Classic Color just doesn't do it for me.

I also like the Mac Mini in its varying forms. Would be nice to own a Mini at some point.

Loved my G4 cube a CPU upgrade board, never wanted to get rid of it, but at the time it was my main music rig and the lack of ram forced my hand :-(
