Hi,

I'm selling a few of remaining C1581 replica complete DIY kits after my builds. The drive is built based on the excellent work of Corei64 and it's latest v2.5 LED board (plus the PC-Amiga drive adapter board and LED board).
I have

3 sets only /
2 sets /

1 set is available [updated on 22.11.2024 18:00 CET)
All sets has been sold. [23.11.2024 11:00 CET)

The C1581 KIT contain ALL of the following components, including

C1581 Mainboard
- Headers, connectors, filters, oscillator
- Capacitors, resistors, diodes, EMI filters, ferrite beads
- Switches, CPU Sockets, DIN Interface connectors
- all TTL logic IC's and SRAM
- programmed EEPROM for KERNAL
- all required screws and washers for all pcb, floppy drive and the case

PC-to-Amiga/Commodore floppy drive adapter board
- logic Chip
- Capacitor
- required headers, sockets and cabling (data / power)

Front-end LED board
- LEDs
dupont wire

The kit contains a full 3d Printed case (top, bottom, front, drive bracket, drive eject button) in a selected color variant (you can choose from a few colour), also comes with an excellent quality label from BadgeMan store (at Retro8BitShop).

NOT included in the KIT but it's necessary for the build

- 1x MOS6502A
- 1x WD-1770 or WD-1772 (Floppy drive controller from Western Digital)
- 1x MOS8520
- 1x PC/Amiga 3.5" Floppy Drive

(optional: SMD LEDs for the board. You can choose any type or colour at your local electric store if you would like - but it isn't necessary for the drive itself, just nice to have. You need to purchase 0805 size 1k Ohm SMD resistor for each 0805 sized LED in a quantity what you would like to apply.)

The reason behind I'm not providing these custom chips are that they are quite expensive now and it could be that you already have stock or spare. However, I can share with you international suppliers or stores where you can easily purchase them if you would like. The Drive is an easy get, you can use basically any PC variant - however, Samsung SFD321(-B) or TEAC model variants are preferred. You don't need to make any modification on the drives.

These are NOS components.
I take no responsibility for the build, it is entirely up to the experience/professionalism of the buyer/builder. All PCB's has been manufactured by pcbway.

Price: 129 EUR / 134 USD 105 EUR / 109 USD
+ shipping fee to your country. Shipping w/ DPD, GLS, etc. to European Union countries.
Payment: Revolut (preferred), Bank Transfer, Paypal.
Parcel dispatch 1 week after payment (due to 3D printing lead time).

Thanks for the interest.

I have a question:

This new PCB board version, support a standard 1.44MB floppy disk? If not, what modifications would need to be made?

This is the latest 2.5 version and with the Commodore-to-PC adapterboard (included in the kit), any standard PC floppy drive can be used with the following disk formats: DS-HD (format required), DS-DD (880kb).
