Hello, I'm looking to see if someone in the Warwickshire area can help with a repair issue on a Sony PVM?

I acquired this monitor recently and there are a few issues with the image. It isn't filling the screen, there is a bit of warping near the top, and there is a white line running across the very top of the display.

Aside from this, there appears to be a bad connection on the volume dial - it seems quite loose and touching it causes the audio to distort.

I'd greatly appreciate any help and happy to discuss any fees or arrangements necessary.
Thanks

yes ,i got your message this morning, ill have a look at it
ill send you my address etc i have some questions

this was dropped down yesterday,i will try to look at it this week sometime,if i can find some time

ok this is now repaired

ill try to explain what i did,but itll be abridged

first the volume control i suspect this took a smack in shipping whicgh damaged the pot,i stripped the control panel out and removed the pot took it apart cleaned it and put it back together and soldered it back and reassambled it all
that seems to work,no dodgy stuff going now

as for the geometry issues,i recapped areas that had drifted caps in the delfection and a few other areas nothing serious, and did a setup you can call it a calibration if you like

there was more to it than that, but it would be a lot to read .all anyone should care about is it works properly now
all im going to say is,always a sony...

here are some pictures to look at,ill send the op a message for payment details and to let him know its done,i think he'll be happy
he is welcome to come and see it working anyway when he picks it up
it would be way better to see it in person anyway

Roy is a master - I have sent several chassis for repairs and always a smashing success :D

Wow this is so much better! I got this home and spent the evening messing around in Super Mario 64 and F-Zero X.

Thank you @roy_bates - amazing work! Apologies for my terrible picture here 😂

In case people are wondering, yes the image is slightly to the right - that’s because we calibrated it for a component source and I haven’t got my n64 modded to do component out yet. Once I get the mod done it should be centred nicely.

not really component but rgb,but lets gloss over that, its becuase composite takes a little longer for the monitor to process than rgb,and shifts it slightly to the right
and ,yeah the monitor doesnt have a centering pot thats a user control, that is sony for you,or any other geometry control for user control

i am glad your happy, enjoy the monitor

feedback is done bud,you can put this away
I was a tad confused for a sec; how is it you can reply when the thread is already locked???
Of course, you're a VIP. One of the perks!
