I read on the Steam forums that you can add the game to your library there, if you like the steam features and an extra layer of DRM that is... LOL

Don't overweight your characters, keep the equip load under 25% and he will move and roll faster! it's a life-saver I tell ya!

Hmm... very tempted to get the PC version. I was going to get the PS3 one as I have the first game on there, but being able to run it at higher resolutions.

Any issues with ATI cards?

yes, it has issues with ATI cards H...
you need to run the high-res fix in order to stress the card so it plays nice, else there are framerate drops as the driver decides to go on/off on the power saving features... in my 2nd pc I have an 6970 and it was unplayable @15fps without the fix. I hope ATI creates an update or something... my main pc with a 560ti on the other hand is just great.

I still think though that the PS3 version looks better, there is some sort of shader/bump mapping going on on textures that makes things look better despite the lower resolution IMHO

I see you have a 6950 on one of those setups H, well runs great on my 6950 so you should be OK. Guess I am one of the lucky ones.

ooops, sorry my card is an 6790 , worse than the 69xx series , I always get them confused

Great, I have one of those

This is precisely why I'm probably only double dipping if it goes 60fps. Though, try super sampling it and see if it does it better? Unfortunately going hires weakens the games lower res textures. Same with putting older games in extreme resolutions - objects may be sharper, but I'd take low(er) res antialiasing any day over hires ugliness :)

Trust me the PC version looks the best with the high res fix, before that it was exactly the same as the consoles. It looks amazing now with the fix. 30fps cap, yeah well this is one of the only games that I would play at 30fps as you don't notice it at all. Other games I would never play at 30fps because for some reason 30 fps games on a console seem a lot smoother then 30fps on a PC. Somehow and for some reason this game plays smooth at 30fps.

Either way out of the consoles the PC version is the best one out to date for graphics and content. Also you get no frame drops anywhere in the game, this includes blight town etc. 30/29 fps all the time.

i am getting frame drops with fix on i5 750/460gtx @1600x1200

will look at res tho

Strange, what % usage is on your GPU/CPU when you get those drops? I run it at 1920x1080. Motion Blur is on and I think AA is off. ini file is like this:

# internal rendering resolution of the game
# higher values will decrease performance
renderWidth 1920
renderHeight 1080

# Depth of Field resolution override, possible values:
# 0 = no change from default (DoF pyramid starts at 512x360)
# 540 = DoF pyramid starts at 960x540
# 1080 = DoF pyramid starts at 1920x1080 (for high end systems)
# 2160 = DoF pyramid starts at 3840x2160 (if you have an utterly insane ultra high end PC)
# higher values will decrease performance
dofOverrideResolution 1080

# Depth of Field scaling override (NOT RECOMMENDED)
# 0 = DoF scaling enabled (default, recommended)
# 1 = DoF scaling disabled (sharper, worse performance, not as originally intended)
disableDofScaling 0

# texture filtering override
# 0 = no change
# 1 = enable supersampling by downscaling
# 2 = full AF override (may degrade performance, for high end systems only)
# if in doubt, leave this at 1
filteringOverride 1

# disable cursor at startup
# 0 = no change
# 1 = off at start
# you can still toggle the cursor with F9
disableCursor 1

# capture cursor (do not allow it to leave the window)
# 0 = don't capture
# 1 = capture
# (this also works if the cursor is not visible)
# toggle this with F10
captureCursor 0

# D3D adapter override
# -1 = no override
# N = use adapter N
# this setting is for multiple (non-SLI/crossfire) GPUs
# everyone else should leave it at -1
D3DAdapterOverride -1

# Log level - 0 to 11, higher numbers mean more logging
# only enable for debugging
logLevel 0

###############################################################
# The settings below are not yet ready to use!! #
###############################################################

# You can only set either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed (or neither)
# 0 = off, 1 = on
forceWindowed 0
forceFullscreen 0

# The following settings are only functional if either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed is enabled
# The display width/height
presentWidth 1280
presentHeight 720
# turn on/off Vsync
enableVsync 0
# adjust display refresh rate in fullscreen mode - this is NOT linked to FPS!
fullscreenHz 60

I never have a single drop apart from the normal 1fps.

sorry Witcher1979 , I have to disagree here... :p

Take for example bricks in the PS3 version, they seem bump-mapped all the time and give the illusion that the game uses a billion triangles... on the pc all it takes is for the camera to move a little to the side and that effect is gone. Also chainmail for example, seems more emphasized on the PS3... I have spent so much time on the ps3 version that some times on the pc I think: hey wait, that doesn't seem quite right LOL

Having said that the PS3 version drops to ~18-20fps (360 is worse!) in places like Blighttown or in the start of New Londo Ruins while pc version does not have that in the 90% of configurations...

dofOverrideResolution 540

above only differenceim using dsfix 0.5

going up steps sometimes drops fps

They should've done a double dipper discount ! :D

I have dofOverrideResolution set on 540 on both my machines, I like that DoF fx :)

ah the titanite demon... that's the one that dropped the weapon I am using currently :)
what level are you mate?
