Maybe a new emote for the non-english and/or/if/else/ lazy typist?

:dipm:

Hmm. I quite like that. Drop the words "Sending PM" (since that's not mandatory at this stage, as questions might still need to be asked in-thread) and I think we might be on to a winner :-)

OK, I've uploaded that revised one to the site.
To type it, type : interested : (remove the gaps between the word and the colons), or select it via the Smiley Control Panel by using the [more] button.

:interested:

Thanks, Puma!!

No problem. I fixed the transparency layer for you too

@ Puma

There's only so much I can do in Paint at work......

Nice job!

:interested:

test,, mm should the back be white, or is it meant like this? Puma his originals where better..

Everyone's a critic, eh, Jurgen....??

Now with added fixed-ness..... is that OK now?

I am :interested: in this thread! Great work PUMA. A nice simple solution. One thing though, since it might be used a lot, could it it moved to the top of the Smilies list to save digging for it? Plus it would help all those Amibay ninjas out there to be even faster than they are at present  :ninja::ninja:

It's fair to assume that if someone's asking for postage quotes, it's probably because they're considering the possibility.

In an ideal world, sellers would include postage charges in their original listings, saving a lot of hassle, but then again, how many different destinations do you include?

I sometimes skip the asking about postage charges part, when I know what the costs are anyway (from history or royal fail website). But for hardware unless the seller posts the weight/dimensions I've got no chance.

It seems a fairly simple concept that if you want to buy the item you declare interest stating that you will send a pm asking for the details you require. If these are not to your liking it goes to the next interested party.

Anything other than someone clearly stating that they would like to buy it is just confusing and threads get full up with chat (though i am also guilty of hijacking) Maybe anything other than details about the sale (interest/posted/payment received) should not be posted

We do try and discourage cheer leading in the threads and ask that all the posts are sales related or if not then to offer extra information that might assist with the sale.

But I've been guilty myself od a little banter in the threads - its ok to a point as we have that friendly atmosphere, its quite rare that it goes too far.

Steve.

You are spending too much time with Keith - you're picking up on the staff jargon.....

i'm probably the worst offender on this site for just yakking in any old thread:oops:

Thats why you're the Cheif Trouble Maker and my Arch Nemesis

I think I spend too much time at Amibay full stop! Just wait till I get a proper job then ya'll will get the bargains and it'll be much quieter around here

I've only read the first page so apologies if someone else has suggested this,

why not just have a button similair to some forums which have a thanks button, it would record when a member showed interest. I know it would get a bit more complicated if a post contained more than one item and there are probably only limitations of what can be done within the software and then of course you'd need a cancel button or the thread creator would need the ability to remove interest tags and then of course is the tag placed in the initial post (better to see whos in the running straight away) or in the post of the reply.

The other option is to give anyone willing to reply in a sale thread a prompt which they must respond to before being allowed to add to the thread. This would clearly highlight an individuals stance by some means undetermined at this time ;)

I know it needs refinement but I need to go to sleep now
