For Sale Dicke Olga - 030 CPU 64/128MB Accelerator card for A2000 Amiga (USED)

Thanks, downloaded, reviewed and quoted ENIG finished fab with PCBWay. Waiting for quote with smt assembly.

Btw, the published Olga paste layer Gerber's have issue which is paste presence on edge connector goldfingers. We don't want any solder covering gold fingers, do we? I removed it in CAMtastic before submitting to pcbway.

Update 2025-09-05

Quote for bare FABS received: $15/fab (for batch of 20pcs) plus shipping, tariffs and taxes (tbd). Next I want to quote SMT assembly, as with PCBway it is cheap providing reliable results. There is no point of saving $3 per board and spend half day per PCB manually populating tiny smt parts.
For this I need a BOM. I went through GitLab BOM (v1.8.2) and found to be unusable for submission to fab house. So, I had to go through schematic and BOM in order to make a BOM that would be usable for CM house (pcbway) because the one on the GitLab gets rejected due to insufficient information about components.

Here are several issues spotted and fixed:
(a) J4, J5, J6 listed in BOM but not present on SCH neither PCB; what are these? I assumed these are leftovers from different board version.
(b) Capacitors have no voltage rating in the BOM, had to figure this myself from schematic analysis. Unnecessary time consuming, shoudl be part of the designer documentation (BOM).
(c) Inconsistency in component reference designators naming - component functions used as ref.designtors, makes it very difficult to organize BOM to prep for manufacturing, example: JP4, POWER, etc.
(d) missing ref.designators on the silk, example: CN1 (edge connector, goldfinger).
(e) most parts have no part numbers, instead generic names describing parameters, like F1 through F6 fuses. What is missing is reaction time (fast, slow, else) parameter which is critical for board reliability. That information can be deducted from the design schematic, which again.... takes time, while it should be listed in the BOM.
(f) Insufficient information about all resistor network arrays, except value there's no example part number or at least IPC footprint name or guide. Without that it is again.... analysis of the PCB layout, dimensioning of the existing footprints to find resistor network in the package that would fit the board footprint.
(g) 74LVTH16543 comes in two package flavors, BOM doesn't say which one applies. Had to dimension the footprint, again.
(h) XC95144XL-TQ144 is incomplete part number, had to find correct one via datasheet and supplier availability.
(i) Incomplete X1 part number, had to figure voltage out of the Gerbers how it is powered because schematic does not show it either.
(j) and I have not even touched through hole parts yet. This will follow.

I will share fixed BOM usable for fab house submission, once the original is fully debugged, part make and p/n vetted, PCBA assembled and tested.
With that others who want to order this PCBA at fab house just like me, have a chance to get BOM accepted without spending hours to figure out what designer had on mind and what should but is not listed in the project documentation. Cheers.

Hello @suavek,
Thanks for doing that. Please upload the files here - we will add them to Gitlab asap. Hope community will be thankful for your work. Please be aware - we are not professionals, and we are doing it just for fun, so this project isn't bug free for sure!

Please also be aware issues you met may be only the beginning of that rocky road. You may end up with non-working bunch of cards, or even worse - Your Amiga may be broken or Your house may burn down as soon as You turn your Amiga on.
We will not take any responsibility for that!!!

Also keep in mind because of my full-time job and personal circumstances I have no time to help others with hardware builds. Some help may be found on A1k but this may not be enough to finish that project.
You've been warned!
Best regards,

- 8 Bit Dreams

No worries. Been doing more complex circuits, builds and bring ups for a living and in three decades nothing got burned down because of that, lol. My bio.
Thank you for warm words, will upload complete with up to date parts BOM once all is built, brought up, tested and confirmed.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Normally @8 Bit Dreams builds in batches of five

I’m waiting since last year
Batches of five per..... what? Week, month?

Anyhow, I am ordering limited batch of 10 bird seeded OLGAs. Quotes came in today and they are ready for me to pull the trigger. Once I have the boards on hand, full assembled and tested, I will be able to post it on the AmiBay buy/sale forum. I am sure some of those who are facing 1-2 yrs wait time may jump in. I am for one, so 9 will be available.

Started to build Your card, will send payment notification on weekend

Approximately when will 68 (me) be available? Black or blue. Thanks
Looking at the waiting list / checking the time span between declaring and receiving - just around 1.5 year, that is why I bought another accelerator and I'm patiently waiting... :)

We should understand that @8 Bit Dreams had an issue with his A2000 which prevented him to test the boards for some time due to the high demand of this fantastic item (interested members are the evidence of such demand) the delay time have increased

I have to admit that @8 Bit Dreams is doing a wonderful job to serve us all

For the members that don’t know what is the challenge of building this electronic boards
It’s time demanding and a task with higher probability of issues during building
Soldering bridges, short circuits due to damaged parts, bad solder joints

That’s why testing the built is demanding

Myself I also have some building projects of my own (some small PCBs and other big motherboards)
When I end one of such projects I cross my fingers before testing because the probability odds are against me
When everything works its a joyful moment but that is one in ten 😎

Due to 50% tariff for PCBAs from China, and because this is the 1st time I am engaging Olga build, I reduced the batch to 5 sets only. The cost of the PCBA should be maintained at the same level. Metal bracket is not included although I made RFQ inquiry at local metal shop, so it's possible next batch of engaged will come with the bracket. It that happens, the first five brackets will be available free for those who get boards from first batch, shipping fee only applies.

This message is for local US users. I do not plan shipping to EU due to reciprocal tariffs.

Order has been placed last night with PCBWay for PCB with ALL surface mount parts assembly. As before, all remaining through hole parts will be added to PCBA in my lab using professional grade PACE solder/rework station.

I will be excessively testing these assemblies on two A2000 systems I have here included thermal check. Test logs will be available on my website once completed. Only fully passed assemblies will be offered for sale at no profit.
