Dusting this old thread.

I've been thinking about getting a DivIDE from Lotharek. Mainly as a storage for my plus but I was wondering if it could also be used to transfer stuff onto the CF card that is conneceted into one of Zetr0's IDE interfaces in my +3.

Is it possible to transfer stuff between the two and how?

Mmm, not really

The DivIDE is a great piece of kit and yes it's firmware can be changed to operate as a ReadWrite device but it wouldn't give you much benefit than Zetr0's IDE adapter apart from 16bit capability...

It's main strengths lie that with fatware installed as the firmware most CF cards can have a fat partition and you can then easily drop snapshots or tap files onto the card with your PC...
Then transfer card switch on and tap the NMI button.
The DivIDE is also compatible with EVERY Spectrum from rubberkey to Harlequin.

My personal preference is the DivIDE but that's simply because I am lazy and cant be bothered to relearn and go through the whole exercise of transferring software to the CF's for the IDE interface everytime.

I would get one but you may find it replaces rather than supplements your current IDE solution.

Thanks for your advice, Bas! I'll probably get it anyway as my Plus doesn't have any form of storage at the moment save for datassette, for which I don't have any tapes. I'll dedicate the DivIDE for the Plus and use the 8-bit adapter for +3.

Does the DivIDE enable you to view the image contents with the default firmware?

When you order it ensure it comes preflashed with fatware...
And you will be good to go, pressing the NMI button will enter a card browser and it supports a dos style directory structure as the partition is formatted in Fat12....1GB partition limit.
