I think about 1 year ago or so, I backed R TYPE 2 that come with CD but I have yet to received it.

I just dont know what cause for long but they say sorry for delay whichever cause it.

The questions I like to ask is

Do you trust Kickstarter or indiegogo?

Would you ever backed it ?

I personally don't trust either of them but if you are comfortable with the prospect of potentially losing your money, then that is your choice.

I seem lost in trust of kickstarter to be honest and I havnt backed it since R Type 2!

From what I've seen, kickstarter seems to have a higher burden of establishing confidence in the ability to eventually deliver, but with each service it all comes down to caveat emptor and making sure it's something you're willing to take a risk on and a person or group who you have confidence in. Even when I made a substantial pledge for the infamous Coleco Chameleon project on indiegogo, I got all my money refunded. Unfortunately there are swindlers who get through the cracks every now and then, or those who just disappear partway through for whatever reason. You've just gotta be extra cautious about dealing with new people. Sites like those mentioned and even amibay can provide a safety net to reduce the incidence of fraud, but they can only do so much. One thing that I do even when I'm not apprehensive is to try to proceed slowly with purchases from new people, enough so I more or less remember my finances (and outstanding pre-orders, deliveries, etc.) off the top of my head.

Well, that's business. You invest, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Just like with finance. If you're not comfy with it, perhaps you shouldn't play in the first place.

Kickstarter I have backed Spectrum Next round 2 and Checkmate Mini. Indigogo I backed the Loupedeck S. I received the checkmate and loupedeck but the Spectrum is slated to Q2/3 2023 delivery. I am not worried about the Spectrum though as they have delivered previous Kickstarter.

For sure Indegogo is where you take much more risk.
