Back in the original Miggy days there were floppy discs doing the rounds with loads of Red Dwarf quote wave files; did anyone else have these on floppy disc at the time....?

I've got the one about Popeye meets the Beach Boys and Bluto meets Bowie

http://channelfever.net/?p=163

And I think I still have the one about the Toxteth riots/Police recruitment somewhere - both hilarious :D

*Cough*

Heck, it got soooo bad, we Ended up with Captain Pugwash cartoon where you had Seaman Staines & Master Bates.

Kin

I remember this also, then years later someone reminded me of this cartoon and the characters names, and with my adult mind I was torn between whether they 'were' the actual names or whether I totally imagined it because to get away with those names would be incredible!!

What about Trap Door? And Dungeon Master? The thing with the team of school kids, with one in the 'virtual environment' the helmet that blocked their vision of the environment. I only saw two teams make it through the entire maze! Dungeons and Dragons was another good one!

I miss being a kid with seemingly unlimited time to watch TV, sleep and tinker on computers or with my model cars!!:D

Ho hum

* sigh * - Good times.

One of the FEW things that have actually improved in the 21st century is that smokers are starting to be recognised for the social lepers they are. :) With all the insanity pushed as "normal" these days - political correctness, ridiculous amounts of workplace health and safety (coming BEFORE productivity), unemployment systems that make it easy for parasites to live of the working population instead of forcing them to get a job, stupidly strict gun laws... now you even need a licence to go fishing most places - loonacy... its at least a small consolation to see that peoples views on this filthy habit have started to change.

Now if you smoke you are looked down on in distain, forced to huddle outside, away from people and buildings and puff away in silent shame - good stuff. Never could understand the logic behind purposely breathing in toxic smoke. Must be an irish invention. :)

WOW a Neo Natzi non smoker. I don't meant to sound harsh, but if you are going to push those views, I suggest you read up on what the Natzi's Views were on smokers and you will find you have the exact same views!:o
I am a smoker and resent the fact that non-smokers can spew this hatred and then go and get drunk and drive and kill people or worse beat their wives and no one blinks an eye. But GOD forbid, I wish to have a smoke in the privacy of my own home or outside and now I am labels a "SOCIAL LEPER".
Sorry, for the rant, but these intolerable non-smokers spewing hatred just burns my but as much as the PETA crazies. IT IS A NEW FORM OF RACISM AND HATRED. Period.

Also, On a more calm, rational point, this was the early 1960's. The health hazards (which are still widely debated today) were not yet know by doctors. In fact back then Doctors would prescribe and push cigarettes (Remember the commercials- 9 out of 10 doctors who smoke. smoke COOL cigarettes).
Second point. Back then, cigarettes were more natural, the tobacco companies had not started to put chemicals in it for addiction and such.Much less toxic than today.

I love this thread, we have now moved on from 70s and 80s childrens programs to the pro and cons of smoking..! he he

Live an let live I say, each to their own :coffee::D

Ease up chap.

We do not advocate the use of such illegal material in here & what you might be doing behind your own closed doors is your business, not ours.

....& Yes, each to their own. ;)

I am a smoker and I have to say is: let me do my own alone!

Jeez! I'm not a leper, I'm not a robber, I pay my taxes and do my work. I hide my smelly habit from children (my own included), respect people on restaurants and closed spaces.

Any chance to have some respect back?

It is all about stereotypes and silly people. They see you dirty once and they think of you as a thief, rude, always dirty person. They see you talk with some gay and think of you being gay too. They see you smoke and think that you do that everywhere, littering everything.
Let that be their problem. It is them who decide to live in a self prison of their very own phobic thinking.
Open minded, kind people live happier and longer ;)

rofl! what a load of crap!

heh go on now tell us how smokers cost the health service and will collapse it for the nation!

poppycock! why isn't smoking banned? answer because the country can't afford it, if you take the cost of treating smokers against the amount of money put into the health service from taxing smokers it far outwieghs the cost.

Fat people on the other hand now cost the country more than smokers, and how much do fat people put back into the coffers? nowt!

so by this reasoning fat people should be shunned by society and be forced to stand outside at restaurants.

get a grip, people died in wars so we can be free (well sort of free)

@ Juv

I suppose there's no hope for unemployed former mercenaries, forced into redundancy due to a downturn in business brought about by "'Elf and Safety" who are on state benefits and who just happen to smoke, is there?

Lol

Have a look at the table top in post 3 :D :D :D

I'm doing my bit for the government coffers ;)

Not a chance. Especially when here in the UK, they ban Smoking from all Public & Workplace Environments to help Global Warming (wtf), yet the dicks that thought this up still drive a car to work.

Respect these days is not instilled in our younger Generations before they are 3 years old, & now they are Managing us @ the tender age of 22 with an NVQ, (Not Very Qualified) Society becomes a proper can of cr4p to deal with.
