No, not booting. Just mounting the system disc...
It does not seems to be that much protection there... Just the customs rom of the casablanca.
Booting the casablanca main app from os3.1 on winuea with snoopdos active (and the available libs from the casablanca deplaced in 3.1 libs directory) shows the missing other libs that are surely normally taken from the rom at boot time of the casablanca....

It's coooool, but then - how did you know? There's no info on the site I could find... :)

Two more questions:

1) someone out there with Casablanca floppies nad KryoFlux to do an image of the floppies for further analysis?
2) any idea how would we go about to dump Casablanca ROM? I have no experience with such stuff whatsoever :/

I just done a dump of the hd and asked toni...

He gave a version of the emulator that skip the id block check of the HD, or that recognize the id block of the casablanca HD. There was only a small difference of the name in rdb block. more not. I did nothing more.

I am surprised that nobody was able to mount the system before....

You can dump the rom with an programer like the one used to do customs kickstart....

I just bought a Cassie off of otherbay, not sure what I will end up doing with it though... :)

No, I haven't had time to do anything more than turn it on, I've been busy with my "normal" Amigas.

Casablanca Floppy

Casablanca Floppy

If you're interested, I've managed to use a SuperCard Pro to make an imagefile of the Casablanca Installation Floppy...
Still have not figured out a mountlist to use it under AmigaDOS yet, though...

:D

I just got a Draco Casablanca, with a missing HD and HD tray.
How can I get my system up and running again ?
I'm a little bit lost, any help will be appreciated !

In the case of the original Casablanca - the discs once used are tied to the machine by the machines serial number.

I'm not sure if you can still buy original software or not.

I don't know about the Draco but I believe it may be the same.

Other than that all you should need is a cradle and HD.

Yes, the Casablanca is tied to its serial number and dedicated floppy set. The Draco is a totally different beast.
While preparing my Draco tower for the sale thread, i tried booting with a regular Amiga 3.1 OS floppy set, and i could actually get into Workbench, and even install 3.1 in the familiar Amiga fashion. Nevertheless, it makes no sense since the Draco equivalent OS has specific items such as DracoTools and various other stuff you can't use with your regular Workbench.
I highly doubt we will ever be able to use our Casablancas as Amiga clones, but there's one piece of progress concerning UAE, where Toni has managed to support Casablanca HD images for viewing. At least that's what i read, haven't tried it myself..
