It is not very difficult.. This is the first time I'm wrapping something (one small piece of dust on the top... Seems that I didn't clean the shell enough).
So here is what I did:
- Brushed on some paint remover (chemical based) to remove most of the paint
- Used a filling knive to remove the paint (carefully without scratching too much)
- Sanded the whole thing down with grid 400, 600 and 1200
- Cleaned with alcohol to remove dust and grease
- Did the wrapping, which is not more difficult than applying a sticker only a bit larger...
It is possible to remove the wrap a bit and apply it again when you've included some air... I just used my fingers to push the wrap to the shell and push the air out.
Total costs... approx € 8,- for the wrap (enough for two outer shells)... Unfortunately, the shipping costs were also approx. the same, so in total € 15,-
Worth trying right?
I've used this website:
https://www.wrapfolie.nl/zelfklevende-wrap-folie/Aluminium-folie-grijs (Sorry, but it is in Dutch)
You only need 0.4m (40 cm) as the width is 1.52m.
