I have a question for keropi

I read somewhere on another forum which I cannot seem to find now that you could get around the drive limit of 504mb on the harddrive on the goldengate by using a certain program.

can you confirm this or was i dreaming it?????

yes you are correct, I was using "OnTrack Disk Manager 9.53" , it's a hdd bios overlay that is designed for old systems with hdd capacity limitations. At one time all HDDs came with a diskette: Disk Manager, Disk Wizard and so on, same thing

So I tried ontrack but it didn't like the fact my drive wasn't IBM so I found this program called EZ-Drive

This will allow you to install the cf card and give you 2gb partitions

I.e. I now have 2 x 2gb partitions on my 4gb cf card

Here is a link to the software

You need to set the Harddrive up in the Goldengate bios to look like this

Number 15 allows you to change the heads, sectors etc

Here is a link to the rough guide I used to do it too

Hope this helps to anyone trying to get past the 504mb limit

Forgot to Ask cugar124

see your Goldengate 386sx have you tried different memory and does it have an FPU and floppy disk PLCC upgrades

maybe try the card without them fitted if you have the tool to remove them

sorry guys seem to be well behind you on my own thread LOL cards fitted are village Tronic Ariadne 2, Cybervision 64 3d, Cyberstorm Mk2 overclocked to 72mhz and fast ata mk4

I think that's the problem right there "Cyberstorm overclocked to 72Mhz" I think it must be at 50Mhz

Hi I only have the 4 sticks of 30pin simms for it and it does have the Floppy PLCC too its strange it is seen in which amiga and the LED flashes but no clicks from the speaker tried another one on the external speaker pins and it clicks on connecting it but nothing otherwise. I have had the 486slc many years ago and never had any problems with it on my PPC 4000 rig I had back then which sadly I dont have now.

Well, I had often RAM Problems with the GoldenGate! RAM changed and the GG rocks again! And... Check your PSU!

OK some success I think now I have a BIOS Screen turns out the crystal was a 66 mhz one so swapped with a 50mhz one on the vortex also removed the floppy controller chip as well so now to figure out how to get the keys to work in the bios

The keyboard should work straight away but sometimes on mine I have to wait a few seconds before it let me move

Question was the crystal you changed on the bridgeboard or on the Cyberstorm

By the way don't think your monitor is big enough ha ha ha

Do you use an origin A2000/3000/4000 Keyboard or a ps2 one connected to a Lyra?

The CS was reversed to 50 MHz, or?
