This one works in Win7, it's a CP2102 model. The Prolific will only work on XP for me.

You can't tell from the photo but, orange is power and brown is gnd.

Thanks for link Arnie, I might just order that one also, who knows if and when the ones from China will get here :)

missing selector.adf or missing adf's in the selector list?

Nope !

Just boots as DF0:????

#EDIT#

Just tried an 8 GB FAT32 Stick and immediately
'Cortex Floppy Emulator ' appeared !
:D

#EDIT
How do you enumerate items in the Menu ?
If I select anything it reboots

Assuming that you saved your list, the computer will reboot and go to image one. You can select the game you want by pressing the buttons, right for up and left for down. The only downside is remembering which number is for the game you want to play.

Don't forget to save the list file, I just re-select the last game to go back into the menu and then scroll to the top of the page where it allows you to save and reboot.

I hope that helps.

The games I put on my card are in a folder called "games" when you first boot up the device or select 0 then the boot menu will appear. You can scroll down to the "games" folder and select the ADF image you want to be in say position 1, once selected you will be shown the placement page, just click on one and you will be returned to the games folder to continue with the selection until you save and reboot. You can store the ADF's anywhere but for my attempt I just made one folder to try it out.

Save ? How

I made one selecton ? Enter ?

and it Rebooted
:o

You haven't got a joystick plugged in as well have you?

Also do you have the right bootdisk image (SELECTOR.ADF) for the firmware version you have used.

Does not everybody ?

One of my joysticks caused a problem while in the menu setup so I unplugged it when I made my list.

1.04b 2K14/03/08 Selector.adf update : Floppy Emulator auto-detection : Can now control the emulator on DF0/DF1/DF2/DF3…

cortexamigafloppyemulator_v104b.docx

I think that I will wait a while before updating again, every-time I have, a newer version comes out

Someone mentioned a while back that you can hard-wire a switch to the Amiga to make the external drive DF0, I think that would be the option I would use ie just stick the drive into an external case where the floppy drive has failed and there is no cutting of the case involved.

@Nobby_UK

Have you set the archive bit on the adfs through Windows not on the Amiga?

Yup

#EDIT#

Tried it with Zip Stick un-plugged = No Difference !

1.04b 2K14/03/08 Selector.adf was updated
The firmware stays the same

So just copy the new selector to your flash stick

There is obviously an 'ENTER' or two stored in the Key-buffer
Causing it to Save Nothing and Exit

By being quick I managed to get it to save 10 single disk games to the Menu
But on reset the Menu was Empty as Indicated by there being No disk to change to...
IE Pressing the button just Ejected the Selector and Reloaded it.

I am going to try it now in my 500+
That is was it was intended for as the 600 & 1200 have SD Cards

#EDIT#
Can now consistently make a list...
BUT the Buttons do not appear to work
So every Re-Boot it Re-Initializes itself :(

That certainly is odd, I wonder if your SELECTOR.ADF is corrupted or set to read only. The easiest way to see if that's the case is to re-download the files (the version you used) and replace the SELECTOR.ADF on the USB stick. If that doesn't sort out the problem, them maybe re-flashing the firmware is the answer. There really isn't much more you could try.

I opened the .docx renamed .zip file with winrar and let it extract in the folder I downloaded it to and there was no problem with read only etc. My version of firmware is 1.03a, it was 1.0 then 1.01a or 1.02a all of which worked fine.

As I think I mentioned before or should have, you should use the SELECTOR.ADF that comes along with the firmware you used to ensure compatability maybe you used a different version as they are all named the same and could have maybe got mixed up.

Weird indeed

I extracted (as opposed to just dragging it out of the Zip)
the Selector, stuck it on the Mini USB and it worked !!!

:) I'm pleased you got it sussed, its the flashing of the firmware that gets me into bother when the device doesn't talk to the programmer  I will try Johnims idea of unpluging the 5volt lead next time I flash one of these
