Hi All,
My name is Chris, and I just recently got back into the Amiga scene. I just bought a less-than-stellar Amiga 4000, and I'm in the process of getting it cleaned up. So far, I've had to replace the NICAD battery, all 5 SIMM sockets, all of the electrolytic capacitors, and a few corroded traces. It appears to be working just fine now, but that was a lot of surgery to do
I was first introduced to the Amiga in 1994 when my brother bought an A500. In 1996, I bought the entire inventory of our local Amiga user's group for $350 (an A1200, a 4000, an A 1000, and about 3500 floppy disks...such an amazing deal). Sadly, an ex-girlfriend threw away the entire collection in 2003, which set me back a bit...Fun Fun
