Thanks for your patience here. The specialist in this matter is still deliberating with the manufacturing team on your dispute. But we did want to check first, if you may or may not have the option to have these reworked locally on your end, that we would reimburse for.

Is that a possibility? Let us know, otherwise, we will continue to look at our own internal options. Thank you for your cooperation.

I am open for doing it locally, which I have done before in one of the previous runs for a couple of items. However, that would transfer all the risk for the rework at my side and it was their mistake. So, currently I am discussing how to deal with this.

Look, i think i can live with it as is. After all i have seen longer yellowed Amiga computers than RAL 9002 in my life so far. Perhaps you should ask them for a partial refund instead of rework.

Can't believe i missed this again lol. I really must log into AMIBAY more often. I am still interested if you have another run.
Looks like there is interest for another 5 units at least so far

Thanks

I’ve send out one set to be recoated at a local manufacturer as a trial. I’m expecting the results by coming Friday (Oct 6th) and will share the results here.
Thanks for the update. I feel very sorry for you, it takes you so much time.

I haven’t received any update. I will call them on Monday for an update.

Update: The trial run has not taken place yet, due to high work load. I will keep you informed.

Update II: The manufacturer informed me yesterday that the test was successful. Today I drove to the manufacturer, but was too late and they were closed already.
Monday I will try it again.
In the mean time I’ve received the quote of reprocessing and this is under review of the manufacturer of the aluminium parts. They need to give approval or else???

Update III:
The trial was indeed successful. I will receive the rest of the part on Friday.
The manufacturer of the aluminium parts agreed with the associated costs and will reimburse me once the invoice is ready.
The weekend I will start packing the parts and probably will ship on Monday.

This is very good news. So it wil be changed into 9002, right? I hope soon to hear from you.

Best regards,

Edwin

Dear all,

Please find an impression of the quality as provided after coating with RAL9002. It seems the coating is a bit more thick and the fit is really tight, but doable.

Hi
from what i see the surface is now quite smooth and the color looks more like RAL9002
congrats on your efforts obtaining the best result as possible!

The drive covers are a tight fit, it needs some persuasion.
Does it seem like there will be trouble getting a diskette drive or CD-ROM drive fitted? Or is the problem the paint thickness on the drive covers as well?

These look great, by the way! Thank you so much!

All except one order shipped out.
I was missing one 3 1/2” cover and I sent a plain aluminium spare 3 1/2” cover to be powder coated.

I believe everyone has received an email with their tracking number from the shipping company. If not, please sent me a message and I will share.

Kind regards,

Aldo

Hi Aldo,

I have received the Alu front and it looks great, thank you. :D
As you wrote it's tight to assemble it, but finaly I got it...

Any update for a possible A3000D Alu front?

With regard to the A3000 front:
I have an initial 3D file, but this is not complete and I have no A3000 myself for reference. I was in contact with someone, but he is no longer responsive.

So, in short: it is on hold.
