Yes, if you use a regular PC floppy the the large 3½" cover is needed.

Edit: The list of interested people does not seem to grow a lot. After this weekend I will ask the manufacturer on a quote based on the current demand. After that, I will be able to share the final price and will request to confirm your order.

Dear all,

I've requested a quote, but it needs further review.
I've received an initial quotation based upon standard colors, final quote based on RAL9002 still pending. Due to that some parts are very low in numbers. Here is what I've received so far:

Front panel: € 228.04
PWR knob: € 21.21
Type A cover: € 35.95
Type B cover: € 54.60 (due to low amount)
Type C cover: € 65.33 (due to low amount)
Type D cover: € 53.46 (due to low amount)

This is excluding additional hardware (square PWR rod, magnets, bolts, washers) and packaging material, but that will come to approx. € 12,- per person.

Hi all,

It is not going as smooth as the first four iterations. As the order will contain different surface finishings, I got a lot of questions from the supplier. Even if I just referred to the previous order.
The latest questions I’ve received were last week, however, I was away and was not able to follow up.
This week I tend to get all things sorted out and finally receive the final quote.

Sorry for the delays. I’m doing the best I can in my spare time.

I’ve received the “final” quote, but the pricing doesn’t make sense to me. For instance, the black anodized front panel is € 125,- more expensive compared to the RAL 9002.

I suspect this has to do with the fact that the quote is based on 2 black front panels compared to 14 RAL9002 panels. They have to differentiate by surface finish and not the amount of the same panels, which happen to have a different surface finish.

So, I’ve again returned my questions.

Low volume production is $$$$. I work on a car which is going to be 400 super cars per year versus a typical low volume vehicle running 60k per year. The piece price difference is staggering.
