I was surprised to find a few treasures in a guys basement after responding to a local ad, stating that he had old working computers he wanted to get rid of. To my surprise: They all do !

Christmas came twice, and I picked up so much, that I need a few days to look through it all and post pics

1:We are starting off with the first beauty. The CMB 3032 with dual drive 3040, original manuals, what seems to be data from some company's accountant and "PET-TEK" -a workbook for mastering PET (printed in Norwegian) !! For this baby, I only paid the 20 calories it took to carry this sucker up the stairs !!

2: A dusty, yellow little 64c that came with about 100 unused 5 1/4" (two packs still sealed), around 100 copied games, 2 zipsticks, one buttonhandlethingy?, a bag of games, some software and Total Carnage for the CD32. Really nothing special about this one, I guess...saving the best for last.

3: My very first Amstrad. Yaay ! looks to work 100%. tested ok with 2 games. Schratches here and there, but nothing too bad.

4: Last but not least: Vic-20, with the CBM 1020 expansion case. The camera's flash overstates the white deliciousness, but it is not far from the truth :) As you all can see, this must have been a primary work -and funhorse. The VIC has been fitted with a reset button and the case has been cut into as to help cooling...man i did not know those suckers got THAT hot. Well anyways, you can all see the pr0n in the pics. :)

Hooking the VIC up to my 55"pioneer did not provide a great picture :O ( I used RF to Nintedo rf to coax)

now thats delicious find.....

20 calories... eh.... trade you a mars bar? ;)

Wow, looks brand new.

Amazing find indeed.

If anyone in Coventry is listening - "Please give away your old retro computers to me for free"

Oldest item I can find locally is a Pentium 100

Just don't do a killer poke in it and all would be safe!

Congratulations, any way! What a beautiful machine you grabbed.

Wow! I am supremely jealous! I'm still looking for a 40 Column PET myself and you were lucky enough to stumble onto one. :D That's a seriously great find. :)

If you want a good, inexpensive SD solution for it, the PETdisk is only $25 and really easy to assemble.

Heather

Wow, that Pet looks like it's in pristine condition, and for free!!! :wooha:

Congratulations to you, cant wait to see what else you got!

Thank you all. Indeed it is in great condition, but not as perfect as my camera suggest. I can try to do the same shots with my GF's Canon EOS100d

Thanks for the tip heather ! will check that one out.

Edit: Had I not been on a strict diet between Sundays and Fridays, Zetr0, I might just pick you up on that one for...say, a pallet of bars? ^^ +p&p :)

3 shots from my GF's fancy camera added ( resized to 25% )...well it DOES look good, but this camera can't capture the few scratches there is.( I think). Allso some chipping of the back and sides. Realle the front is absolutely the best part of the units. At least we can now see a little more of the grey and some dirt I missed during my not so thorough cleaning :)

Is it the same that had other commodores? he was advertising that pet for xxx nok. and it would take 500 more to ship it here.

Yes, look like my Pets, though I haven't turned mine on since I picked them up. What actual good are they for? :-)

Awsome find with the PET.
<slightly envious>

There are a very few PET demos that are quite impressive but nice to see people have tried.

Dunno about that. I got this one on top of another deal done over the phone. Did not know he had it before I got there :)

Wow great find , I'd love a pet but space and funds may be an issue for such a lovely machine :-)

Nice indeed, but that pic of the Amstrad is a little worrying. You have boxes alongside the monitor & if your precious tapes are in those boxes, the tapes will be scrambled & un-useable in no time due to the huge magnetic field around your monitor. :|

I'd say those boxes next to the monitor are likely to be ring binders containing manuals rather than software.
