I'm going to have an hour commute each way to work soon, so time to invest in a decent gaming handheld. I had a Gemei A330 and Dingoo a couple of years back which were OK, but both had issues so I'm guessing there are better things on the market these days? Basically I want something as small as possible that emulates the following, anything else is a bonus:

- SNES
- Mega Drive
- Arcade (MAME)
- Master System
- Game Boy
- NES

The most important things to me are build quality/good controller, and emulation speed/accuracy. I'm guessing an Android device is probably the way forward, but am open to other suggestions. So far I am considering:

Sony PSP - now cheap, very good build quality/controls
GPD G5A - looks brilliant, any opinions?
NVidia Sheild - maybe a bit overkill for what I need? not interested in new games

I'd obviously like to spend as little as possible (don't worry, no price discussions!) so let me know what you think of the above, or anything else I don't know about :)

Highly recommend the JXD S7800B. It's a quad core Android device with dual analog controls. Does all the above emulators, plus N64, NDS and PS1, plus Android games.
I'm selling mine, but that's purely because I would like more consoles for the collection, and already have a PSP. I only really play Mega Drive/SNES RPGS on the go, and that does fine.

Looks pretty good, what's the D-Pad like? Drop me a PM if you want to consider selling.

I have a PSP with custom firmware that I use to play retro games on the go.
The only downside would be that the MAME port is pretty slow and no longer maintained. But there are many arcade compilations available on the system.
Every other system you listed has emulators that run at 100% speed save for the SNES but that depends on the game you're playing.
If you also play PS1 games you can use Sony's official emulator. There is a program that will let you rip your PS1 games and convert them into PSP executables.
