freshly joined since I figured doing more with Amiga than just fixing old ones is what I shall pick up as a hobby.
So how do I know Amigas and Commodore? It all started in 1984 with me getting my hands on a Commodore 64. I loved it. BASIC not so much but the assembly language got me. I wrote shareware games and tools mostly, then switched to a Commodore 128D, moving to GEOS development.
My first Amiga was my uncle's Amiga 500. Leisure Suit Larry... that was my first impression. I loved it! As a student, I moved on to an Amiga 1200 and a modified Amiga 3000 since in 1996 these machines still were better than what you could get as a PC. Also, more fun to work on!
Why I am here? To connect with other people happily soldering, figure out how to get from a single Amiga 1200 Rev 2B mainboard to a full system. I have not dealt with this stuff in the past two decades and would appreciate any guidance.
Also if there are Amiga users in Berlin, Germany, please ping me.
