I was too young to enjoy Amiga during the golden age - but my brother upgraded from Atari 800 XL/XE around 1989 to Amiga 500. I was blown away by computers at all - being brand new thing to us - meaning I could live in a lie that Atari is the only computer ever needed. But once I seen Amiga and played couple of games, it was instantly a love in a first sight. One of best impressions was Another World - that was a real movie on that TV!

Much much later my brother sold me his A1200 with harddrive and bunch of floppies. Since I didn't had any better computer back then, it was my first very own computer. Later I bought Blizzard 1230 and I got this one since. I had more Amigas during the era - but I dislike collection of dust on those, so I sold most of them. At this moment, I got my brothers Amiga and additional A1200 with Blizzard 1260. So indeed, I can play whatever I want, including games via serial cable :).

I consider myself a gamer first - I am interested in any kind of "interesting" game from technical and design standpoint. I play on many systems - but Amiga is a special beast in my heart. Since 2007 I throw regular summer Amiga Parties in a small village close to Prague. Amiga is very attractive not only to regular veterans, but also for random newcomers or curious people - we're never alone during that weekend, playing old games, even new ones, enjoying fresh demos and listen to music.

So, that's me in a nutshell.

Welcome to :check:AmiBay!

I think in the 80s the Amiga was the only home computer that could have that wow effect on users! Bravo that you are still celebrating and enjoying the Amiga today!

Around 1998, I was showing multitask capabilities to so-called PC master race with Windows 98 - and they couldn't believe their eyes! Especially when I show multiple resolutions on the screen at the same time! So many wows were dropped :0.

But indeed, it is partially nostalgia, partially a testament, but Amiga still counts as my all time favorite home computer of all times and I cannot imagine, what would need to happen to change this.
