Hello guys and other guys:D

It's been a while sense I have been on. This is because I have been searching. ( for what?) I have been searching for a bar top arcade machine. A machine around 20 inches tall. One or two player, running anything really. But here's the catch. I need one for under £200. If anyone knows a place or a guy, I would love to about it. Thank you

Steve :)

Its not totally out of the realms of impossibility but unless you find someone selling a secondhand one *EDIT*. It's not overly difficult to construct, its the time it takes to get the software working correctly that is the thing.

Thought about making your own? You could do it within budget and still have money for a beer or two :)

I don't think I really I have the time or knowledge to build a bartop.
Possibly one day. Thank you for replying. I would not mind a second hand one.

ive thought about making one with an old pc,mame and liberal doses of plywood.

thats probably the cheapest way,if your any good at diy there are some really nice ones out there homemade.

I have always thought about it but I don't have the time or the DIY knowledge :D if anybody on here has a second hand bartop that they are looking to sell for that price. I'm here. I missed out on a voyager arcade machine by £4.50 the highest bid was £74.50 but I put £71 as the highest I would go :picard

I Built myself an arcade machine about 10 years ago, it cost me well under £200 in total. The breakdown was something like:

Knackered old JAMMA cabinet with monitor - £55 (eBay)
Complete set of new buttons (6 for each player) - £12
New acrylic faceplate for controllers - £5
Street Fighter 2 JAMMA PCB - £25
Wires/solder etc - £5

So around £100 all in if you're willing to do the work yourself and be patient on eBay. I also later added a small PC running MAME for another £100 or so.

However if you're wanting to buy one that has already had all the hard work done, expect to pay several hundred quid.

I built (lol, I got some items together) to make a supergun version of the Neo Geo MVS on a shelf panel for compact size and portability.

It is here

I know you want to build a cabinet but I am just referencing this to you for ideas.

It was relatively economical particularly compared to buying a cabinet.

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, looks like I'm gonna need to find some time and build my own. At least the end result will be nice hopefully:cool:

Thanks I think I'm going to make a weecade or a verticade unless I can find one on ebay

Best start planning for a DIY solution! If you're not that good with tools n stuff, pick a set of nice plans that suit your needs, and visit a shop (i hope you have one near you) that could possibly offer such services as building it for you. I know it won't cost the same, but it all comes down to your skills, and the quality of the finished project you desire.
Take this advice from a man who's built his own full-height one:

Mine went a little over 300 Euros in parts, but countless hours in-between start and finish, and compliments of a broken elbow a couple of days after i started! (an irrelevant accident btw)

That was a awesome cab btw ( well done on making it ) I think I know a place that can cut and machine everything. Then I will do the insides. Only time shall tell
