Hi all

I have an Amiga 1200 and have an issue with the sound. It'll work completely fine, and then just every now and again go silent for around a second. There doesn't see to be anything in particular that causes it.

I've replaced the wires (phono) and that hasn't made a difference.

Set-up I have is; phono and visual wires (3) to a switch-box. Switch box to a HDMI switch. HDMI to the TV. It usually looks and sounds great so would be surprised if it were that, and no other system under the same set-up has an issue.

Cheers

Okay, so when I wrote "surprised if it would be that" I tried a new tactic... I bypassed the switch boxes. Straight to an Ext port in the TV.

Same issue. So switch boxes and wires 100% not the issue

Has the mainboard been recapped?

Does the power supply provide proper voltages? Have you checked with a multi-meter recently?

Hi, never recapped.

But yes, power pack is fine. Also works fine if I do a direct swap with another A1200

Many problems with A1200 (including audio) are caused by capacitors gone bad and most of the times remedied by just recapping.
Thanks. I thought that may be the case. Do you have any recommendations where to get that done? Cheers

I got mine (with an audio problem) fixed locally. In UK you must have many options. I read Mutant Catterpillar based in Anglesey, Wales is very good. At the other end of the spectrum is Amiga Kit. (Complaints about sloppy jobs.)
