Morning all,

I started my morning off by watching a cool LGR youtube video of him building up with the new A1500+plus case (which is awesome BTW).

Video is here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNI18uLhkt8

But what really struck me is that he had a white PCB mega drive pad adaptor with switch remappable buttons! Does anyone have any idea who makes this?
I dug through LGR's links and the first batch of comments but no luck, I even rewound the vid to see if he mentions the maker but nothing...

Can anyone give me an idea where to look? Thanks,

Its not just about up / jump button its the pin assignment & voltages that a megadrive pad damages electronically the c64’s chipset

Does anyone know if this is also the case for ZX Spectrum as I connected up to a button and it works fine but don't want to damage the ol' Speccy?

i dont know about the spectrum but in the case of the C64 unexpected voltages and lines held "high" to the CIA chips can compete with the keyboard when pulled "LOW"

so in reality its very rare, but it can happen, many games use the space bar etc for extra options and if you happen to press a direction or a button on your joystick while you press a Keyboard key then zap goes you CIA chip, it might not break on the 1st go but its a time-bomb when it WILL happen.

to prevent this you can insert diodes inside the gamepad to solve this or like in the above suggestions use an adaptor that plugs into the joystick port to make it safe for none C64 joysticks / pads with the bonus of mapping one of the buttons to "UP" which make many games much easier to play.
