I'm Rash. I live here in the UK. Returning to the world of Amiga after over a decade.
Me and my big bros started up with an A600 for a few years, next onto an A1200 that we had for a while. Messed around with that one a bit. Did a rom upgrade to 3.1, some sort of ide converter for a larger hard drive, got an 030 with I think 8 meg fast ram, that would overheat.
(Our solution was to mount it onto 2 stacks of video tapes and have a desk fan pass air underneath the card. Sounds silly but it took months to save for any little part we needed, so we weren't going to waste money on some sort of cpu fan or something when we had a perfectly serviceable solution at hand. Finally did a tower conversion at some pint though)
Anyway, was having a chat with one of my big bros and had a bit of nostalgia overload. Decided it was time we got back in the game. Got hold of an A1200 today that has seen better days. Giving it a bit of TLC.
Gonna see about an A4000 maybe. Always dreamt of one when I was a kid, but it's hard justifying the spend for a bit of nostalgia. Still....maybe....
