Hi,

I'm here to sell all of my commodore stuff. I grew up on pre-amiga commodore but now it's time for it to go.

I am a big fan of the sid chip and its sound. I made a final project for college that could do some sid-like stuff.

Hello man.

This SID related project of yours sounds interesting.
Care to elaborate ?

It was 8088 based. It used an 8284 to make square waves and a dac0808 that I used to make a sawtooth. I was trying to make 2 dac0808s to make 16 bit sound but that's ridiculous as I discovered. You can't get more precision by doing that. Further more to get a 4.77Mhz CPU to generate that without a DMA controller would limit the sample speed to less than 2.25Khz. I realize now my best option would have been to just put a DMA chip, stay at 8 bits and use that for drumming, would have been more practical.
