So, last october I was digging through my floppy discs Ive collected over the years that were full of PC software, I got the feeling of how it used to be playing the Amiga, the tactile feeling of the 'clunk' whe you insert a floppy. A day or so later I was talking to an old school mate who's into IT, he said I have a 1200 in my shed, you can have it if you want. Yes please! I spent months getting it up and running with recapping etc. I now own 2 x A1200s (1 with a 4GB HDD and the other with an 8GB CF card which I amn unable to get booting) and a A500. Im looking at upgrading my 3.1 A1200 with a decent accelerator if the price is right.

Hi there

Welcome to the board! Sounds like you have been having a lot of fun with your Amiga's.

Ive yet to try recapping, I should really give it a try some time.

I have a question about the 1200 that doesn't boot, is this
A. The Amiga doesn't boot at all, it's dead
B. The Amiga works, but for some reason it will not boot from the CF card.

if the answer is B, could I suggest trying your 4gb CF card in the system.

Hi HiddenEvil, the answer to your question is 'B'. I can get it to boot with a 4gb cf card but not with a 8gb card. It seems its something to do with the ACA1221EC board, if i remove the board it boots up, if I remove its jumper it also boots up, but when I try to use the card as its intended it halts during boot-up. A lad in Aus (facebook group) was helping me and he thinks its the maprom not being compatible with scsi.device43.45. I could downgrade the cf card but where is the fun in that!! :-)
So for now Ive put the ACA card in my KS3.0 rom amiga with the 4gb hdd. . . . . So, the answer to your question is Ive been having lots of fun!
