Hi, Ian here
Hi from sunny Midlands, Uk

I'm Mike, new to Amibay, not new to Amiga, I had a 500+ for Christmas when I was 11 (so long ago I don't like to think about it) and moved on to the A1200 and a cd32 when they came out, both of which I still have, and am currently packaging up for a recap service on both.

I need a spot of help as I am also in receipt of an ACA 1221EC, the matching clock module and some 3.1 roms (all arrived this week from Amigakit which are going off with the boards to be fitted and timing checked etc. Whilst stripping my A1200 down I took these photos https://www.facebook.com/michael.j....10156208552429896.1073741827.633694895&type=3 and am worried the ACA isn't as fast as the accelerator it is replacing??

Any information would be much appreciated and glad to be a new member!

Kind regards,
Mike

Hi and welcome to Amibay.

the card you removed from your A1200 I think from the photo's is an FPU (only used by a small amount of software mostly 3d rendering etc) and ram.

there is no CPU on that board so the ACA1221ec will be faster.

Thank you, any idea of rough value, I can put the funds towards a few more amiga bits!

sorry against the rules,

you have to do a bit of research for a value.

Hi Mike

Many thanks for your order, it is very much appreciated

The ACA 1221EC should provide around 4-5 MIPs of power according to SysInfo

I cannot see your photos, what accelerator are you replacing?

Thank you.

.

It was a fastram (zips) and 68882 FPU 50mhz (from memory when I looked at his photo's), I think he got mixed up FPU vs CPU and thought the ACA1221ec was slower
