How can I troubleshoot a PCMCIA CF card on an A1200?

Just try the aformentioned Sandisk CF cards. I can assure you they work.

If the cf0 file doesn't contain the line activate=1, you need to attempt to access the device for it to mount. (ie by typing cf0: in shell), even when the file is in devs/dosdrivers.

To troubleshoot further, the error you get when writing cf0: or info in shell is more telling than the lack of drive icon.

It's better to format on the amiga, not the pc. One less source of error. (And always use quick format!)

Size in itself is no factor regarding compatibility with compactflash.device/pcmcia. (it's TD64 compliant)

The cf0 file *does* have the activate=1 in it. When I run info I get the message that there is no disk in drive, the line of information is identical to that for df0: which has no disk in too. Typing cf0: in the shell gives me the same message albeit in a dialog box.

I've tried to format but I just get that there is no disk in the drive. All these cards show up in PrepCard.

I've now tried a 32mb and 128mb and no joy. I think I'm probably just wasting money on cards now, anyone know where I can get one that is guaranteed to work on the Amiga. Or is there someone who has a working card I can purchase from them?
