Re: how did you get started?
For me it was when my younger brother was in the army (around 1991) baught home an A500 with a copy of Giana sisters and several other cool games (the only computer i owned at the time was a Tandy Colour computer 2 with huge 4 colour graphics) and thought it was awesome and had to get one. Anyway being just out of high school and no job i stuck with my CoCo 2 and upgraded to a coco 3 the next year. During this time my brother passed the A500 onto our mum and he upgraded to an A600 around the time of Commodore’s demise, anyway he moved away to Darwin and i finally picked up an A500 and purchased a 512k expansion for it then started collecting games from local retailers and buying mags which advertised the A1200 i kept saying to myself i want one of these. I purchased my first A1200 in 2000 but my other half made me sell it the next year saying you never use it blah blah blah...............
Well 2008 is here i have 2 X A500 one with kickstart 2.04 3meg ram and 30meg HDD
And purchased just in the last few weeks
1 X A600 and put my old PII 6gb Hdd and one meg expansion
AND i have finally got my A1200
1 x A1200 which i purchased in pieces from a guy on the “Bay” and keyboard from the “KIT” in the UK and put it together with a 30gb HDD (reads as 8gb) also got PCMCIA CF reader and Wireless network card, now just need the accelerator, also have coming the IDE adaptor to allow me to connect my notebook CD rom.
Am happy as a pig in mud
