I first saw and Amiga 1200 in about 92-93 when my older brother won one, he used to cover the whole desk with a sheet to keep it dust free and i used to sneak under the sheet and play it in the dark. hehe. I then bought a 500 back in 96 and was hooked unfortunetly i swopped it for a 386 some years after and have regretted it ever since. Because of the Amiga and the spectrum i got into programming using basic then onto c and c++ and i now use c# and that's what i use today in my programming! I'm now 30 and look back on the Amiga with great memories. :)

Soooo....
At 48 am I the oldest here ?
That's soooo depressing .

I remember when this was all fields .......

Rofl! I honestly doubt it Will... Merlin will be along shortly

Joking... :D But I think there are a few members about who are around your age and possibly older.

I am 34 and had my first commodore 64 when I was about 12-13 but started to play a lot earlier at friends houses. I had 4 friends who had one.

The c64 was mostly bought second hand by there parents working class people, who bought it to enjoy there first computer.

It only allowed 30 minutes play before going dead.

After that I had an a500, an 386 sx and so on...

I still remember Amiga introduction, here it was looked at the next model over the c64, the c128 was looked at useless no software in the wild to make use of it ...

These where the days of Fast Hack em and serial bus copy a floppy in 20 seconds one side, without the c64 on

PS: we exchanged floppy drives we mostly only had one if lucky enough

I'm 30 and got my first Amiga pretty late, in late 1993, because before it was unavailable (you could grab single units if you had relatives in Germany for example) and we couldn't afford it.
I did had a few silly gaming systems before, some cheap Atari 2600 clone with a build-in cartridge with 100 games, and a dozen of handheld consoles I swapped with friends from school, mostly Russian.

30 going on 31 soon :)

Got my A500+ in 1991 at the old age of 11 (well my parents bought it for the family)

Had a speccy 48k as a young 'un:) learned LOAD "" very quickly

^ Think its safe to say thats the first command I ever learned too!

35 and always ahd a computer since i was 5 where i had a zx81 and it went from there. I feel i am very lucky to be around at that time to see just what is a computer and not the robot shite we have now.

I'm so old that I can remember the c64 adverts on tv!

Now are we talking mental age here or pshyical ?

I'm 39 but feel 59!!!! Ive got cold

Im 31.
I got into Amigas in '89 and but my dad was such a tight arse I didnt get one til '94 (August 3rd in fact :D ). It was second hand A500+ for £95 from a guy in Wakefield, I think I still have the FreeAds advert somewhere (yes, I cut it out and kept it  ). I then got an A1200 in '96 and went all the way upto a PPC/BVision in a Power Tower back when all that came out.

Life got in the way and I kinda moved on from the Amiga but you can never forget something like the Amiga, my best childhood memories all have Amiga's in them :)

I came back to the scene about 6 or 7 years ago, Ive got lots of Amiga's but I dont really use them like I used to do. I kinda like to expand them then thats about it, or try little bits on them (like the rev6 A500 1MB ChipRAM hack for example). Im saving them for my retirement ;)

My first computer was Vic 20, then rubber keyed Speccy, plastic keyed 48k Speccy and finally the Amiga. Also had a dabble on Acorns, an MSX, Dragons and Oric 1's but they were my cousins not mine. I never had a C64 (got 2 now) but I never understood why people go nuts for it.

Dam you lot  only 52 years young here

My first computer was the TI994a i think it was called TI = Texas Instruments

yea ok thats going back some, and errr so do i lol

edits : model number and still not sure, what a fecking memory eeeeeeek

Good old rubber keys FTW! Was my first ever computer I ever used

With all you young whipper snappers around I feel like a grandad.

My 2 daughters are older than some of you lot

First true computer was about 1980 a UK101.

Owned plenty of different ones since.

But stuck with Miggys all the way since I got my first 2000HD

All the others computers (except for most of my Miggys) have now gone apart from my :censored: PC, PS2 and original Xbox.
