Was looking at pictures of my A4000 desktop which I sold a few years ago.

I want to cry :( :( :(

Sooo regret selling her

Maybe the buyer will sell it back to you :)

I had similar remorse not long after I sold my first A1200. :(

Bought another last year and am in no hurry to sell!

I too would be sad if I ever had to let my A4000 go.

It's had repairs since but I remember, when I first purchased it, the seller tried to buy it back off me almost immediately! :D

i do miss mine from years ago,it was packed with some serious hardware.:)

it wasent in a desktop case though.not enough room:D

I recently sold mine too. I had owned mine since 1996 and only decided to finally sell it because I really wasn't using it other then to boot up every 3 months to convert a disk to ADF or check a CD's contents.

So far I've not missed the A4000 too much as I have a well specced gaming A1200. Maybe in the future I might.

I do know she went to a good home though because the motherboard has since been fully recapped, cleaned up, and also some track damage found around the audio area during the recap fixed. So she has been lovingly restored and brought back to full working order again. Had I kept her the issues uncovered would have come to light in a much worse way later on.

I with draw my sale the other day of my 4000, when I advertised her I said no post option available and did not give to many details because deep down I did not want to let her go  so I still have her and I have just treated the 4000 to a original nearly new looking key board  I am that proud of the key board I will post some pics and show people some time in the near future.

I also regret selling Picasso II and GVP 68040 for my A2000.

I do not really regret trading my CDTV as I did not have much use for it, or selling my A4000T with Cyberstorm '060 and Picasso IV as it was just too much value for my uses but it was a beast I must say.

I also don't regret selling the Blizzard 1260 - I did not need all that power in my A1200 just to use WHDLoad :p

Having said that i'm happy with having A Blizzy 1230IV in my A1200 and I just bought an A2630 for my A2000 which eventually i'd like to also get it a Picasso II or some other RTG card.

I regretted selling my Atari 1040 STe equipped with SatanDisk so much that I had to buy another one and then get it re-equipped. :picard

I'm truly sorry to hear your pain, but thank you for sharing it with us.

I appreciate it personally because I'm currently in a situation where I left my previous job whilst taking them to task over both moral and legal issues, and now have a new job to begin this coming monday (An awesome company that allow dogs in the office! Like Hitoro!).

Money is a little tight at the moment, and I was considering letting my A4000 go in order to help ease the strain a little, but in light of what I read here, a month of beans on toast and fewer trips to the pub isn't going to hurt as much as losing my dream Amiga.

On the bright side, a monthly public travel pass for all south yorkshire trains, trams and buses cost me just under £100, Morrisons do a great tin of beans for 24p and bargain booze do a great pack of 4 toilet rolls for £1.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, and fingers crossed that you get to replace your A4000 very soon.

Beer and toilet roll all under one roof :) I lolled reading this.

On topic:

I regretted selling my GX4000 when there was an South East meet recently that I went to, would have been awesome to play some 2 player World of Sports.

Also I did own a Sega CDX (USA Multimega) and can't believe I let go of it.

 Bargain booze have all of our bases covered

I regretted selling my GX4000

I have a boxed Amstrad GX4000 with Burning Rubber that I intended to do something with, but it's been sat in my dad's roof for an embarrassingly long time.

If this interests you then I'd be willing to add it to my hardware sales thread, with it reserved for you.

The only problem I have is that I'm confined to South Yorkshire for a month (my Dad lives in Leicestershire) until I receive my first pay cheque, which means you would have to wait a while.

It would be great to give it a good home.

Alternatively, I can see a boxed GX4000 with two games with 3 days left on t'other bay. I can make out burning Rubber as one of the titles, but the other is unknown to me. Would be quicker than waiting on me.

World of Sports was a great conversion of California games.

Sorry about your regret there. I felt terrible about getting rid of my original A1200 many years ago, especially with the lengths I had to go to, to get a similarly specced system to replace it a couple of years back - and it's still not quite there.

Even worse with the less common 4000 so feel bad for ya :(
