It can only be for the Köttbullar och Lingon :D Mmmmmm.

Bryce.

This is the reason I will be voting "in", if we go "out" all our offshore tax havens will be laughing all the way to their own banks. I am also deeply worried about the erosion of worker protection legislation.

Interesting you say this, as I've heard that if we leave we can get rid of the "European Human Right", why would we want to get rid of this? And the things that have been incorporated because of the EU like amount of holidays paternity leave....... Why is this a bad thing, I think leaving the EU is going back to the dark ages

That's the worry I have under the current regime and the reason I'm wavering in-between in or out. If Cameron and Osbourne get free reign you can say goodbye to workers rights, human rights, minimum wage and a whole lot more beneficial policy's. You can also expect a whole lot more cuts while they give themselves another pay-rise, corrupt ar*e-holes!

****! I have no idea how to use this golldamned forum since I had a nice reply from a guy who wanted to know about my stash of Amigastuff. I guess that will have to wait until I make a few idiotic posts, like, what the heck is Brexit, or who the hell cares, although I already know about this stuff. Since you are an Administrator, maybe you can clue me in about the rules and how to sell something on this fracking forum. Jack in Montana. (I have never looked kindly upon rules or administrators. Sysops, ok, but administrator? Maybe that is a Brit term.

You agreed to the rules when presented to you at sign up, so you should know how to sell on AmiBay, because you surely read all the rules before you agreed to them?

Regarding your question, you really should directly approach a member of staff or post in the correct place, but if you were contacted about your items without first posting a sale thread then this is against the site rules as it would be silent bidding. We can't stop you buying and selling via PM, but it is then considered outside of AmiBay and will not be protected by site rules or offer any staff assistance if the sales go bad.

But if we dislike what the UK government does, we can vote them out and replace them with people who do represent the majority. ??

A lot can and will happen between the 23 of this month and the next general election. How are you going to vote them out before then?

But they know it's coming and cannot ignore the voters completely.cannot change people's minds in the last month or two.
However how are you going to hold the EU accountable ever, let alone every five years?

Say we had a corbyn government. He is firmly against this TTIP trade deal the EU is pushing forwards, and apparently it will risk allowing more privatisation of the NHS etc. If he was the elected leader and was overruled by the EU, would all those who currently want the EU as a check on the tories still be happy to have it as a check on a left wing government?

That's another problem. There is no one left to vote for in this country, Corbyn is as big a joke as Cameron! Anyway, you may as well save yourself the trouble of trying to convince me of anything, it won't work. I will make my own mind up according to the events between now and the 23rd.

Oh not trying to convince you, everyone should make their own minds up. Just interested in the debate and if my reasons for voting out can be challenged enough to make me rethink.
There isn't enough info available to make a fully informed choice, so much of this comes down to gut feeling anyway.

Whether we have a left middle or centre government, there is just something that feels wrong in principle about us needing an unelected unaccountable body to overrule the elected government. Maybe that's just a comment on the state of our democracy. ?

Completely agree, that is why I'm bouncing around in the middle of in or out. It just makes it a harder decision to make under the current regime. Labour has already forfeited the next election by backing Corbyn the jester, I couldn't vote Labour with him in charge, and the mates I know who generally support Labour say the same.
It makes it more likely that the Tories will get in again, although I think Cameron will be long gone by then, there is already a campaign by his own back benches to oust him. Who ever replaces him will just be more of the same though.
I just think we are screwed whichever way it goes.

I think if I thought there was a serious chance of reform from within, then I might consider staying in. What I hope/ expect an out vote would do is trigger a reformed EU that we could be part of.

And I thoroughly agree about corbyn. The tories are very lucky to be able to expose themselves so much with the infighting without any serious opposition to benefit.

Part of the problem with the EU is the lack of accountability of anyone as they are unelected, it just seems at times that they are trying to run it as a business. I think any chance of a reformed EU just isn't going to happen!
We do need political freedom and the chance to make our own decisions, it just won't happen while we are in the EU. Funny though how plenty of other EU countries make their own decisions without repercussions! A few of them have closed their borders to immigration for example, but we can't, you walk in most bars or cafes in other EU countries and folk are sat there smoking e.t.c.
If we do stay in we need a leader that has the gonads to stand up and say no just like them!

We are British therefore if we agree to a set of rules, we like to stick to them. Even if others don't.

If we leave Cameron and Osborne are finished as there will be a leadership challenge immediately (wouldn't surprise me if he resigned). If we stay in the EU will still be controlling Cameron and his government so either way we are safe from the current regime.
