I bought HDMI adapter and connected ipad to big screen as so it is same Operator System as Mini Mac M4.
and also work with Logitech wireless Mouse too.

Why would you spend £600 on Mini Mac M4 when you got Ipad that does the same job?

I'm not really a mac or ipad kind of guy but, if i had to choose, i would always choose the computer over a tablet. And remember guys, no prices discussions (y)

I thought 'Operator System' for those did have some differences? Even though there is obviously code shared between them.

And even then I'd imagine that this forum users' usually have like more than 10 computing devices? We are very likely to have both and often more than one of each. Is it even possible for us to debate the question to choose only one device instead of getting another 3 this year?

I know Mini Mac is desktop and Ipad is tablet.

so if someone want do more advance stuff then yeah, Mini Mac M4 is one you want to do.

Tablet does have limited on what you can do.

Mac Mini can use keyboard and mouse for one thing, iPad can't do that as well - especially mouse. And iPad keyboards are somehwat meh. And that then leads on to all sorts of other awkwardness with using software.

However I see I didn't read your post properly - interested in how that setup works, but even if it works well it still wouldn't suit me because important-to-me programs aren't available on iPad, because iOS is not Mac OS etc.

Plus I'd have to keep carrying my iPad around and that doesn't suit me either... and my desk for my PCs is already cluttered (where the keyboards and mice are, and monitor). So, not really something I'd want to do. And sitting on the sofa with leads plugged into my iPad I find clumsy and annoying.

That said, I mostly use my iPad, because it does what I need most of the time. On the sofa. Otherwise, I fire up a PC.

I am however pondering leaves Windows behind so if an iPad could run Mac software and use a keyboard/mouse/monitor well - I'd be absolutely interested!

iPad can use any kind of bluetooth keyboard and mouse since a long time.
However, i didn't understood what OS that new MacMini uses. I have seen reviews about the hardware but they don't mention the software. Is it MacOS or IPadOS?
Then it all depends of what the used needs to do with the device.
