True, the cable can be a different length and the connector can be angled differently. I have mixed many keyboards and MBs and have never not been able to connect it together, although some combinations may be more tricky. If the cable is taped in the wrong direction on the bottom, it is not hard to remove the tape and retape it in another direction, which will give some extra length.I have found that C64C machines with long boards have a different length keyboard cable to C64C machines with a short board. This caused me a problem when I took the long board out of a C64C and put a short board in. The keyboard cable would not reach the connector.
Edit: Just got the package and opened it and have a small tip for the rest of you - be very careful when cutting the tape. My clear case was on top in the package and received one small scratch (luckily on the back side), although I tried to be careful when cutting the package open. Other than that, from the first quick look, it looks good (when look at it closer later when I have some time).
Edit2: Got time for a closer look and they generally look nice. A few scratches and other imperfections, most likely from the mould, but nothing I cannot live with. I ordered a white, beige and clear case. I expected the beige version to be almost like the original case, but it is far from it. I have an almost mint non-yellowed original C64 and the original is darker and more grey while the KS beige version is a bit more yellow. The 'white' case looks even more yellow sitting next to it. The beige looks like a slightly darker version of the white one, both with a clear yellowish tint. Neither of them looks nice sitting next to my white A1200 (or my mint C64C). But the clear version is nice - no off colors here.
The only minor thing about the clear case are the many imperfections the case has on the inside, but that probably wasn't important when they made the mould in the first place.. I think once it is populated, it will look very nice.
