...infact both welsh and english derive from lattiin. but i degress..
Actually my friend, English, Welsh, Scottish, Dutch and German (to name a few) are in fact are based on a West Germanic language. Unlike most other European languages such as French, Spanish and Italian (also to name a few) are derived from a
proto-latin language.
Interestingly all european languages are rooted the first languages that are considered
proto-indian, over many milennia - this language branched out to create the plethora of lanuages that we have today -
where some languages ended up isolated for almost as many milenia - others evolved with the populce that used it and what that society interacted with others -
In itself lanugage encapsualtes every facet of man (and woman), from communicating their art, social needs and niceties, ideas. A langauge is unique way of thinking and expressing oneself.
Because of this languages are both remarkable and beautiful yet while it is sad to see a language die, through its non-use, its good that we are in a position today to save that language, that art, that way of thinking.
in case you wonder - I may have a small passion for language =D
