@Amiga Forever...by know you know I can be chatty as well, so hey!
This is a complicated problem and somehow a simple problem.
No philosophy is absolutely right, and yet having no philosophy seems absolutely wrong.
I find that Big Tech has moved our time, distractions and achievements to the digital realm. As a result, we often may not have anything physical to show for our daily efforts. That's why it is important to achieve things that are physical manifestations of our effort.
Clean that room or area. Sort that box of stuff. Fix that machine and make it beautiful. Do something that requires patience. Make that soup with that slow boil broth. And yeah...exercise is awesome! I find jogging really gets me pumped. I understand some chemicals get released after. I no longer call it jogging either. I call it
"scanning the neighbourhood" because I check what's happening around the area, and oh yeah, just happens at a jogging pace. Nothing wrong with walking pace though.
This Amiga hobby is hugely beneficial to mental health. First, because those without a hobby have that problem to address and we're already ahead on that mark. We have this hobby and are passionate about it. We lived it and have awesome memories. This type of hobby one cannot just find on-demand. I worry, because kids today don't have such a hobby available to them. As a personal example, I was working on an Amiga project for a long time and it just came together and "alive" a few days ago. I save such projects for the winter period for obvious reasons you highlight. I'm high off that for 3 days now and I don't see that coming down. I keep looking at it and smiling. Still more fun details to do. I was going to post about it, but seemed braggadocious, so I'd rather just most rant about stuff.

Hey, ranting is a hobby too, just make sure it's further down on the list of hobbies. Ranting really comes down to a phylosophy that all this stuff they ask us to buy is not going to necesarily make one happier. In fact, often it maybe the opposite.
Bottom line: Do something that makes you happy each day. Make other people smile or laugh. Have a good healthy meal. Smell those flowers, don't just walk by them. Remember that life is often waiting for something amazing and then amazing happens.
And this time of the year does make us northern hemesphere bunch hibernation-prone. Put in the effort to see the sun when it is out there, ideally between 9AM and noon. And take Vitamin D by all means. Every day. It's a hugely beneficial daily supplement for this Nov-March period.
Now everyone...20 push-ups!
P.S. Quit watching the news and quit social media algo/bot/ai/advertising apps if you have the will power.
