On Windows 7, there's the log in screen where you choose an Icon to select who you're logging in as, get the password wrong, and 'Can't log on your username or password is incorrect'

How could the username ever be wrong?

If you were on a domain then you would also have to enter a username, which is what that error is considering.

An error I've had, which isn't computer/OS specific, but actually my car:

I know, but the OS commands it. The users choice not to use a Swap File causes cr4p like this to happen.
Set minimum & maximum Values to the same & get it off the C: drive, preferably on a Partition of it's own. Rule of thumb always was 2 to 2.5 times your total System Ram. In this day & age, that's out of the Window, so don't exceed 4GB Swap file size, leaving it about 40Mb under the 4GB boundary. IE: something in the order of 4056Mb, which is more than enough anyhow.

@Kin: You are right but you can use a ramdrive and put the swapfile there. If you have 2 gb of ram you do not need a large swap file a small one on a ramdrive keeps the system and it apps happy. At least not for XP

Either way fella, it's still Virtual memory & is the same as a Fake Orgasm. Ram Drive, Swap File, it's all on Hard Drive space & does not matter. It's all the same cr4p & is required by just about every program out there in one way or another. It beats the hell out of me why folk disable Virtual Memory under WinBlows.

Under the Amiga & back in the days of £170.00 for a single 4Mb 72 Pin SIMM, GIGAMem was an absolute life saver & Fast SCSI made it much better than IDE because there was NO CPU hit for it when using the Virtual RAM on the SCSI Partition. The only problem with GIGAMem was you needed a working MMU to use it, so the cheaper CPU variants got you in the Ass for it. :|

They think they win performance in fact they disable it No idea with the amiga solution, I was happy back then with an a500. A hard disk was unthinkable for amiga, I never saw a cdrom for a500 local.
