Well, most items that are MilSpec probably won't survive an EMP strike..Well they are built like tanks that's for sure, but going from this to state that it was military spec... For instance, I doubt that an A2000 will survive an EMP strike.![]()
As I understand it (which is not much at all), in order to be MilSpec, something has to be "tested and inspected" by the government.

I supposed it's "possible" that at some time, the government wanted Amigas and did that, but I seriously doubt it...
I think it's much more likely that this was someone who was referring to the fact that these things are built like tanks, and used the phrase to make it sound more official..
And, I'm wondering if when challenged, this person responded with "I know what I'm talking about and it's fact," rather than "I just meant they are built really well."
Of course, that last part is speculation. I missed the whole period that this was happening. But I've seen people do that lots of times when they say something that sounds official, and get challenged on it..

(p.s. Side story. I missed the whole time period that those things happened. When I finally got back into the Amiga, I did so through a craigslist post. And it was D whom I bought my Amiga 500 from. I then learned about the "history" afterwards. He does really prefer the Amiga 2000. I remember he did talk about that. I don't remember the word MilSpec coming up tho.)
